Final Fantasy Music!
By seemingly popular demand in another post, here is the Final Fantasy music thread! Seems there are a few of us on here who enjoy the music of Final Fantasy. I thought I was the only one on here, looks like I was wrong.
So post all of your FF music favorites (or dislikes) here. What do you like about the music, how'd you get into it?
I'll post a list of favorites later on (warning it's very long). But I'll start off by saying how I got into it. It all started with One Winged Angel. Back when I first played FFVII, I really enjoyed that song, it fitted the final battle nicely and I just really got into it. Probably a month or so after, I started downloading some midi files of songs of FFVII and was listening to them. The followed all of the midis from FFIX, as that game was just out. I think the more I listened to, the more I got hooked. Now I have a playlist of over 400 songs (over 22 hours) in mp3 format, and I have many of the CDs.
Why do I like the music? Because I'm a FF fan. Not really, there's more to it. I used to be into metal and hard rock, but I guess as I got older, my tastes changed. Final Fantasy music has so much variety to it. There are slow and beautiful songs, upbeat and fast songs, or songs with a good mid-tempo. There are also many different styles covered, and all sound great in their own way. Nobuo Uematsu is simply a talented composer, who can create music that not only fits the games well, but also is listenable on it's own.
