Part 6
*Setting: Calen squealed with laughter as she ran through the cornfields of one of the neighbouring farmers. Her hearty laugh ringing through the air as she pushed past the long ears of corn. She turned her head to see the chaser behind her. It was Aaron. His arm outstretched as he tried to 'tig' her. She quickly manouvered to the left and avoided his first attempt, however he quickly changed directions and once again took after her. The other children were running through the fields aimlessly, hoping not to get caught. The Farmers, who were watching, chuckled to themselves from the entrances to their huts. Watching as the cornstalks ruffled when the children sped through them.*
Calen: "AAWON, AAWON!! YOUR CHEETING!!"
She squealed this accusation at her chaser, whilst still running. He laughed but never replied, concentrating on the back of the small girl. She halted and spun around, her face scrunching.
Calen: "YOUR CHEETING!! YOU CANT CHASE ONE PERSON FOWEVA!!"
She folded her arms and stood glaring at him, her face un-amused. Aaron stopped and stood opposite her. His face too seemed un-amused.
Aaron: "Thats the game, Calen. I haff to tig ya...!!"
He raised his right hand and stuck out a lone finger, slowly moving it closer to Calens body.
Calen: "I'm not it..."
He carried on moving it towards her body, going slower to prolong the moment.
Calen: "I said, i'm not it..."
She took a step back, her face still scrunched.
Aaron: "Yeh you arrrr-rrrre!!"
His finger poked her left shoulder and he quickly jumped back, turned and ran.
Calen: "AAWON!! COME BACK!! I'M NOT IT!!"
She jogged after him briefly before stopping and moaning to herself. His giggles disappearing in the mass of yellow that was the corn. With a deep sigh she turned and started moving through the corn, listening out to see if she could hear anybody else who was near by. She couldn't.
Voice: "You seem down, whats wrong?"
She sighed again and hung her head low. Hardly picking her feet up as she shuffled them through the dirt.
Calen: "I'm it...again."
A force fell upon her right shoulder as if the being was resting its hand there. Comforting her.
Voice: "I can help you again if you like...?"
She slowly shook her head.
Calen: "They'll say i cheeted again..."
There was a brief pause from the being before it continued talking.
Voice: "Ok. How has your day been aside from being it?"
She stopped and turned to were she believed him to be, raising her head slightly to talk to it.
Calen: "Ok. Daddy made me a wooden birdie...!! T'is great!!"
She began to perk up a little, however stopped when a branch snapped behind her. She spun around and noticed another little girl. Her skin was a mixture of green and yellow and her plume was orange and red. It was Harmony. Her blue eyes stared at Calen and her face was one of puzzlement.
Harmony: "Who you talking to??"
She stepped forwards and looked around. Harmony was a unique little girl. She was your friend until she found a better friend or until she found something wrong with you. She stepped around Calen and looked through the corn.
Harmony: "Well?"
Calen shook her head and shrugged.
Calen: "No-one. Just singing."
Turning, the green and yellow skinned child looked at Calen with even more puzzlement.
Harmony: "No, you were talking. I 'eard you! Saying how you were it again and stuffs. Who were you talking to??"
Calen seemed to look up to were she believed her friends head would be and sighed.
Calen: "I cant say. He'll be in twouble!!"
Harmony took a step forwards and looked Calen deep in the eyes. Her brow narrowing.
Harmony: "Who?"
Calen: "I told you, i cant ss...sss...sa....ssss-ssssay."
Her bottom lip trembled, so much in fact that it seemed to hinder her speech. Harmony took a step back and watched as Calen's eyes started to blink out of sync. She wobbled, her body swaying like the corn in the wind and just as easily. She tried to speak, her mouth opening and closing but as she tried to utter out random words she fell. Fell to her knee's. Her eyes were flooded with light like that of a plug as water disappeared into it. The yellow corn fields disappeared as did the ground and sky. Everything was pure white, like an Artists canvas before the paint. She looked up at Harmony who was still there and looking distressed and seemingly screaming for help. But Calen could hear nothing. Then something caught her eye, something at the side of her. She toppled to her left hand side and looked up to her right, were the being should have been stood. And there stood a large, black creature, its chest broad. Enveloped in a black trench coat (like Nemesis in 'Resident Evil: Nemesis' coat) and standing around 7.5 ft high. It looked down at her, red eyes searing like hot coals. It had a Mudokon shaped head but the skin pigment was dark-green and had black coursing over it. Its plume nothing more than a black pony-tail. It snarled at her and took a step back. With a low growl it seemed to slowly disperse into whisps of black shadow. Each whisp gradually turning in an anti-clockwise direction before disappearing completly. Calen looked on, scared...and then everything went black...
(OOC: I deleted the previous version of this chapter because it progressed the story too quickly. Hope you like this one instead.)
