Well I know how hectic things get when you have an exam, myself being fresh outta high school and stuff. Definitely assignments!
In exams, you're at the desk with your pen in your hand and you have to squeeze all that knowledge outta your brain, within a specified time limit.
With assignments however, you're told exactly what you need to do, and have a desirable amount of time to do it. You can also work at your own pace.
