Chapter 4

“Where are you going?” asked a bemused Dac.
I pointed down the tunnel. Abe and Bigface had noticed us and were waiting.
We reached them and they greeted us, I kept anxiously looking back where we had come from.
“Hello, nice to meet you again buddy!” said Abe holding out his hand.
I shook it and nodded back to him.

“Jim, this place is no longer safe for you” Said Bigface.
Scar-eye looked at me. “These Party-poopers are after you?”

I nodded.

“There is no time for idle chat, you must leave at once!” Said Bigface.
“What exactly do you have in mind?” asked Ash.

“Come!” Gestured Bigface. “The Shamans are ready, we shall use all of our combined powers to restore some strength to you”

We entered a circular room. A circle of Shamans stood on a large symbol drawn in the dirt.
“Go” said Abe pointing to the space in the middle. A bird portal was in the corner.

I wheeled myself over to where he was pointing. Abe and Bigface joined the circle. My friends stood near the doorway watching.

The Muds in the circle began to chant. As they chanted a lot of spirit energy was released into the air. It all seemed to be flowing into me. Some of the Muds were looking tired and in a lot of pain. I felt their life rushing through me. Suddenly they stopped. The force created by the mass of spirit energy threw me out of my wheelchair. I banged my head off a rock.

“Owww, what was that for?” I exclaimed.
Then I realised what I had done. I had spoken. I climbed to my feet and took a few steps. I was feeling great.
“Thanks guys!” I laughed as they also climbed to their feet.

Bigface limped towards me. “You are now living off our energy, do not take your life for granted. The Virus will slowly destroy the new energy you have got. Use it well; maybe you should go to the nearest Magog City to seek a possible solution. Please though, do not return here for a while, it isn’t safe”

Sligs were mumbling further down the entrance tunnel.
“Quickly go now!” Said Abe.
“Good look my friend!” said Bigface as he began to chant.

The Shamans, Bigface and Abe all jumped through the Portal and were gone. My friends looked at me and I smiled back. My adventure had begun again…
