This was a while coming as I found it boring to write...

Chapter 2

“Jim wake up” Called Nat.
“He’s only slept a few hours” Said Leo.

They were standing near my bed shaking me. I sat up and looked at them.

“We’ve got you some food” They said.

I held out my hand and smiled at them. I couldn’t speak then, or walk. I felt like I had lived in the same room for years. Obviously we had only lived in the lines for a few weeks but when you’re trapped in a room all day unable to move around it seems like forever.
We lived in a small village under the ground; it was a vast cave but brilliantly lit. Huts were built on the cavern floor. It was like a normal village but under the ground. About fifty of us lived there with no worries. Bigface and Abe would visit us every now and then.

They chatted as I ate the food. I wished I could have told them what I had seen in my head. The slig armies would be after us soon. I tried to speak but only mumbled.
They both looked at me.
“What’s wrong?” asked Nat.
I mumbled again.
“It’s no hope, it’s worse than Intern speak” said Dac entering the room.
“Where’ve you been?” asked Leo.
“Nowhere…”
“You’ve been spying on Bigface again haven’t you!” said Nat.
“I can’t help it, I must know what goes on where he goes!”

Ben walked in.
“All right my Brothers!” he yelled as he walked to my bedside.
“How are you chief?” He asked.
I mumbled and nodded my head.

“He’ll live,” said Scar-eye entering the hut.
“How do you know?” asked Ash who followed him.
“Because he’s like that being who he is, you know…”

Leo spoke up again. “Why? What exactly is Jim?”

“Odd, you missed a lot of neat stuff in the brewery” said Dac.
“You’re talking about Ice aren’t you” said Nat.
“Don’t remind me of him, he gives me the creeps!” said Leo.
“Best thing Jim did, kill him” said Ash.

I was about to mumble but Scar-eye cut in.
“I’ll have you remember that it was me who killed him, although it was a kind of a joint effort”.

“Fools!” said Ben.
“I came to say that Abe is returning to the sanctum soon, you should bring Jim up to see him. I heard that Bigface and Abe have been joining powers to heal Jim!”

They began chatting about this miracle cure. Nothing much else happened then.
Ben and Scar-eye lived in a different village to the rest of us. They were closer to the surface of the lines. They would even bring tea and other things for me to have.
I still lay silent for a few days but it wouldn’t be long until my new adventure began…

This shall get better, just wait till the sligs come running!
