Loved the story. Shame that you won't develop it farther because I was pretty dissapointed that it ended when it did.
You have a writing style that causes people to want to read farther.

I only wanted to mention though that how would the sligs know that their continent is shaped like a gun? Unless it were really small, it would be hard to tell if something were shaped like a trigger. Therefor they wouldn't be calling it by that name.

Just a small technicality I wanted to point out.
