Truth be told a Slig's conversation starts at about 3 minutes in (or after the ambient part). But the real moment of reference starts a little before 6 minutes. You should hear grunts and honks then...

Oddworld A Slig's conversation

Figured it was about time to expose this track to some diehard Oddworld fans.

The entire track was synthesized using only the initial vocal phrase,
