Double Fine Action News!!!
Well if you remember that episode of The Simpsons with Channel 6 Action News with the exciting Kent Brockman, this is something like that. But not.
Seriously, this is the website of Double Fine, the computer game company started by Tim Schafer who used to work for LucasArts and designed games such as Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle. Well he's now doing Psychonauts which looks like the best (non-steef related) game coming up soon (that's my opinion, please don't spam me if you disagree). Anyway, what makes this website so great is the news section, which is written by Tim himself (that's equivalent to Lorne Lanning going on line to have a rant every day) and is hilarious. I spent a few hours last week just reading all the old news and managed to get even less info from three years of news than one 'Ask Alf' page. But I was pissing myself laughing the whole time. Well that's enough preview from me; go see for yourself: http://www.doublefine.com/news.htm EDIT: sorry, I put Kent ?Brockstein? by mistake. Must have gotten confused by Homer's mother's flashback to a young Kenny Brockelstein |
That game looks awesome! I can't wait for it to come out. It was supposed to come out like a year ago, wunnit?
Say, have you seen the trailer on the X-Box website? It's shibby. The character's voice reminds me of Richard Horvitz, AKA Zim from Invader Zim, Daggett from Angry Beavers, Billy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and various other cartoons. I wonder if it IS him. That would be so sweet! :D Double Fine Double Fine Double Fine... what other games have they done? I know I've seen that logo somehawherez. The environment looks kinda Invader Zim/Voodoo Vince, except much more richly detailed. And the lake one looked kind of like OddWorld. |
Day Of The Tenticle, pure genious that game was, I never could beat it though.

man i loved grim fandango i finished it like 5 times pretty funny game
|
Hm, I've never heard of all these games.

Grim Fandango
*sigh* What a good game... Someone started calling me that after I broke my scrotal bone and went all...big teethy Grim Fandago like. Christ that hurts.. |

Ahhh...that game brings back so many good memories. That and "Sam and Max" were probably my favorite games for quite a few years of my childhood. |
I've played demos for those games but not the actual games.

What the hell are all these games? I'm feeling left out here. Which is odd, because I consider myself fairly plugged in when it comes to video games.

All these games are LucasArts games that Tim Schafer worked on. Psychonauts is the first game for Double Fine. |
I see. No wonder I haven't heard of these.
Oooh, Psychonauts! I cannot wait! Gotta have it, gotta have it! I love it when games, books, movies, etc. have characters with psychic abilities. That's why Raven is the coolest of the Teen Titans, yeah! I mean Robin's got 'is little gadgets and his metal bo, whoopdeedoo, and Cyborg doesn't really do that much, all he has are strength and his laser cannon thing, and Beast Boy is just kind of weak in general. Starfire comes in at a close second, but Raven is totally the coolest with her chanting and meditation and the telekinesis and whenever she uses it, whatever she directs it at turns all black, and that's so cool! Y'know what I'm sayin'? |
