I hope thats not CGI, they have completly missed out the fact that all good CGI has individually crafted hairs. His are all lumped together. But his eyes are sooo purty.

Is that art they use for the background or CG. I heard that OWI don't need art backgrounds for Xbox, just CG. like in AO & AE they used art.

The hairs at the back of his head are kinda wispy, which makes them look like individual hairs. Possibly the ones at the front were meant to clump together, or they found some trick to make it look like real hair.

I think it looks awesome and I can't wait to see the Stranger Intro in motion and with sound.

Regarding the concern about Stranger's clumpy hair, hasn't it been suggested that he isn't big on bathing? Perhaps he's just got dreadlocks. :)

All of that is done in CG. Its done mostly in 3D software such as Myia, Lightwave etc etc, Though I can tell you one thing to create things and enviroments we see in Stranger is probabally a very difficult job to carve out in 3D software. Lots and lots of sufficticated equipment like bump maps, XYZ charts and graghs. I am learning the same stuff in school now. And its extremely difficult because you get a book of all the tools used in these software and the book is thicker than any soft ware book known to man. I mean these books are thicker than the bible. Anyboby breaking into CG work will be overwelmed at all the panels that show up on your screen and mainly they work with three basic 3D shapes to build their envirorments and characters.

LOL, I find it hard to work with photoshop let alone with al the stuff you mentioned! But looking at al the past and recent prices for the other oddworld games, Stranger will win an award for sure! No doubt. Wheter its for best game animation or for best FMV secuence, they will win at least three trophy's I think.

The hairs on Stranger look really good. They're barely clumped, they just appear like that because of the clashing colours - but look closely and you can see nearly every individual hair.

it is probably CG, it was obviously taken from the opening sequence.
