I've got a bad feeling...
 

that all of these video and computer games everyone is anticipating so highly will be delayed, specifically Fable and the sequel games like Stranger, Halo 2, Doom 3 and Half Life 2. The release dates never seem to deliver and it is just so frustrating to see all of these delays. Some of these companies are notorious for large gaps between videogames, particularily Bungie. Last I heard, Halo 2 was going to get delayed and all of these videogames stores are doing dodgy pre-orders on "Oddworld 4." If Oddworld isn't released this holiday season I'm going to blow a gasket! The worst case scenario I can think of is that Stranger is delayed and all of the time spent between Munch's Oddysee and Stranger will be its own hype, giving the game lousy reviews, bad sales, and dissapointing a lot of people.

Maybe... you know Duke Nukem Forever? They could better call it Duke Nukem Never becouse that game has been delayed so many times I cant even count it... Wasnt that game supposed to be on the market around january... 2001 :S

Anyways, I don't hope Oddworld will get the same, and I doubt it will. Oddworld games have never been late here in The netherlands so Why should stranger and oddworld 4 will be? But then again, I dunno how its going in America :S

Seriously though I tend to agree, I mean I remember OXM stating Halo 2 would be releasing in the spring of 04, and of course that date has been repeatedly moved. :(

I guess a quality game is worth the wait though, I hate when they rush games and they end up full of glitches.

Same goes to Driv3r. It's oringanly supposed to be in cominng out in March, but now they say is coming out in june.

I realy want Stranger to be coming soon! It is getting worring.

Yes...OW4 will come, and I have full confidence in OWI. They'll take care of it and we'll all be happy with the finished product...no matter what time our Xbox's get blessed by it.

basic fact: games often go late. If you want to read something interesting go to http://www.gamespot.com/features/btg/. There's lots of stories about the process companies go through to design games and why they go late (and why usually they're better off for it). There is a great one on Black & White, which is another game that was majorly late.

On the other hand, how can O4 be late when we have never ever been given a date more concrete that "sometime in 2004"? And that is still on the oddworld.com FAQ page so it probably still counts.

I reserved Fable when it was supposed to be released in February.

Now all I get from my coworkers is. "Some time this summer. Honest."

I want my god damned fifty dollars back.

Thats why I am wary of putting up money on a pre-release because they ask for more money and don't have any control over release dates so its like blowing 4 or 5 dollars for no good reason.

Second, I dont think OWI will delay the game after they give a release date. They're not like Bungie :p.

Thats why I only put 5 bucks only on Stranger incase it is late. But I doubt it will be. As for the others lord only knows mann.

Putting money up front for a game has got to be one of the biggest scams ever when they people who make the game have almost no control on when it comes out.
