Oddworld Spottings
Yeah, so tonight I went and saw "The Prince and Me" (oh be quiet you, my girlfriend really wanted to see it :p) and in the "Prince's" dorm thing, there were two Oddworld cardboard standups. One was of a Glockstar, and the other was a Big Bro holding a can of soulstorm...you know the pic. Anyways, they were both about a foot and a half tall, and had the MO logo right by their feet.
Yeah. Just thought I'd point that out... The Prince of Denmark digs Oddworld. Has anyone else spotted Oddworld in movies or TV? |
I once read that Abe appeared in a crowd of aliens on The Simpsons, but it turned out to be Grandpa. When I brought it up, it was thought the Oddworld cast would be ideal for Groeningisation.

*cries* I want those cardboard things. I asked at a game store in the US once, but they wouldn't sell it to me.
I remember there was meant to be an episode of the X-Files where either Scully or Mulder walks into a caravan [trailer for you US peoples] and some guy is playing Oddworld. You can't see the screen, but you can hear noises from the game. Apparently the crew of the X-Files were big on Oddworld at the time. Abe Babe... |

There was a bunch of scrabs, slogs, and paramites in an episode of "Game Over" or whatever the hell it's called. Of course, there is a link to that on OWF's homepage... so I guess it's not really a "spotting."
G4 airs two Oddworld-themed ads. One is Abe telling a bunch of muds to lift a big metal "G4" logo, and the other is Abe and Munch spray painting "G4" in some industrial setting with sligs in pursuit. Go G4. Whoop. |

I saw a bunch of MO screens on FOXNEWS the other day. It was a business segment and the newsman was talking about Microsoft lowering the price of Xbox. Anyway, newsman told the whole story with MO playing the whole time. I thought it was pretty neat that MO was representing an Xbox game on the news. I know...I'm a dork! :p -oddguy |
I think I saw an Oddworld Reference in the computer game Theme Hospital, in the begining sequence with the doctor playong on a playstation or something, and what look like mudokons are on the screen. I've never been sure, though. Baybe someone can help me with this.

I’d always thought that was some 3rd person view of Aliens Trilogy, but, as you can see in the screenshot below, it’s neither. It’s described by MobyGames as “A familiar video game!” but I can’t identify it. Some earlier Bullfrog game?
 And this G4 rings a bell – wasn’t there somebody saying there was an ad that had Abe and Munch being chased by a Vykker brandishing a large syringe. Some guy ages ago also reckoned Abe and Big Face, along with other Mudokons, were playing football (soccer) to advertise Raki. |

I pointed out the G4 TV commercial a while back where the Vykker chases off Abe and Munch. Don't remember it in too much detail anymore. I do find the whole cardboard cutout thing cool, though.
