I've been gone for about a year and just found out about 'Stranger' and was wondering if there was any images of stranger himself, what genre is it?(platform,fps,rpg) and is there a release date?

Welcome back, phleg. I'll keep the topic open in case someone wants to waste their time typing up everything we know, but I'm working on a summary of everything we know about Stranger, so if you can bear a few days' wait, it'll be on the Forums in no time.

Alternatively, a brilliant place to explore is Hayley's section devoted to everything we learn about Oddworld 4 at Depths of Oddworld.

You know, it's funny how a year ago, when we were told the "rumour" that OW4 would have a centaur guy in a viking boat, we all dismissed it as utter nonsense. Heh...

Guilty as charged. Back then it sounded outrageous, but now, with what we know, it sounds doable, and perfectly odd. I think EGM confused most by being too blunt with their report.

No, I think we all confused ourselves by claiming it was an early April Fool's joke. We've yet to hear of Stranger having to move "things" yet, and we know just as little about the relationship between him and his boat, though I'm still guessing it's a living or inhabited vessel, especially since the Christmas card message.

Although at the time I think we said that it was a wierd idea but if anyone could pull it off it was Lorne & OWI
