Best Banner Maker!

Okay, all those who want to will make a banner for the OWF. After the banners are finished, they will be displayed on a thread and the members will vote for the best one. The names of the members will remain anonymous. Voters will just choose between A, B, C, etc...

The winner of best banner gets...

Well, the prize is being discussed with Alcar right now.

It's going to be either,

The winning banner being displayed on OWF for a certain period of time and replacing this one...

Maybe even both of those are possible for the winning prize. Anyway, this is going to be fun if everybody participates.

Right now this thread is to establish rules and such for the competition.

Quite subjective, in my opinion. Also, remember not all software is created equal. It would be the few with the software and 5ki11z to win. And not everyone has the time either. Though I s'pose if the rules could be tweaked some, and made mroe open to everyone, it might be nice.

Any dimensions? And does it need the forums background colour so its fits?

520 X 195 pixels if you're going by the banner display we have now. Also, blending in with background color depends on what style you have.

I'm great at making banners (as you can see) I would like to know a li'l more about the proportions, entailed pictures, and layout-match. I can't wait to see a new banner, I will make one once I have such info and I will post here :D

Actually, Oddguy. If you make the banner a gif file then you can make the background transparent so it could work for either mapping. Should I make one for stranger?

I totally agree, but then again I would be interested ins eeing what those guys with talent are able to produce.

With the whole anonymous voting system thing going on, it should work fine.

You could make a banner for whatever style you want, but it would be required to be a gif, as a jpg is too compressed and doesn't support transparent colouring. A Stranger one would be fantastic.

Okay, I think we're ready to get this started.

Dimensions: 520 X 195 pixels if you're going by the banner display we have now.

Format: Gif is the required format, as it is able to have transparent coloring.

Design: Stranger.

Submitting: Don't post banner on the thread. We want the identity of the designer to remain anonymous. Send the banner by PM to me.

Would anyone else like to add anything?

Ah, I just recieved a banner to display. The artist tells me it may need some tidying up, but I think it looks great. Take a look...

I had a thought in the back of my head that somebody would look at the web address, but I didn't act on it. Well, now I uploaded it to my site so Alcar and SS are the only ones who know...until the contest is over.

I sure hope not. We just need more time for more entries. I'll put up a timeframe before we vote on banners. Okay, the deadline for OWF banner entries is April 1st. Voting for banners begins on April 1st. Voting will last for a week(From April 1st-to April 7th), then the votes will be tallied on April 8th.
