Most embarassing pop-up.
When I'm in the computer lab people sit pretty close to one another and it's always good for a laugh to see if they got any dirty pop-ups. My best friend Rob got about 20 pop-ups and twice as many e-mails for some fake breast thing that you strap around yourself. "It comes in either nude or black and can up to a FULL CUP SIZE!!!" Also, this guy Ebert, who everybody knows has a tiny wang, got about 30 pop-ups for penis enlargement pills.

Interesting topic, but way too much information to share. No, but I hate those; everytime I want to show my dad something on the computer, SPAM mails and whatnot embarrass the hell out of me...

I usually get ads for liposuction and things like that on the school computers. I think that it might be suggesting something. And breast implants. I get those popups alot, too.
|
I dont really get pop ups anymore. I tend to stay to only a few of the sites I know of. I also put on my google bar a pop up blocker. The worst one that I ever got was when I was just on like a game site that ad for a mini camera came up, and it keeps going up and down over this lady, and that happened just before my mom was about to come in the room. :fuzemb:

Well, one time I was going to hotmail to check my e-mail...and I was really tired. I accidently typed "hotmale." I was shocked to be taken to some homo site when I expected my e-mail that's for sure!
As for spam, I don't get it that often. Sometimes, I do get some e-mail asking for my credit card number so I can help cash in on some oil money in Iraq.:p However, my brother gets spam all the time. When that Paris Hilton thing happened, he got so many e-mails that were trying to link him to the video. -oddguy :fuzcool: |
Lots of porns sites pop ups. But now i'm saved by my pop stopper, some times its kinda annoying but it saves me from closing all the pop ups.

Not a pop-up, but I get heaps of spam email ... and once I was sorting my email and my dad walked in. And I just kept doing what I was doing while talking to him. And I clicked on some porn email. I don't think he noticed though, as I quickly clicked off it.
The worst pop up I ever got was something that covered the whole screen. It was for a porn site I think. It even covered up your task bar and had no x in the corner. I couldn't get rid of it other than CTRL+ALT+DEL. It was really bad. Pop ups like that should be banned. As should ones that tell you to install crap on your computer. As if I'm going to install some crap just to see more ads. Yeah right. I remember another time I was on a warez site and it said I had to install something to proceed. So I said no like 3 times and it let me get it. Haha... bad programing there. I used to use a pop up stopper through my Norton Interent Security ... but I recently done an update, and now it blocks valid stuff. Like the banners on OWF, the image thumbnails for parts of my AC site, whole image headers for sites ... it's just really annoying that it blocks things it shouldn't. Abe Babe... |
These days so many people have pop up blockers, that people have stopped using them to advertise.
Free hosting with popups is excellent, because nearly 85% of your traffic will probably be protected against popups. |
At school, Penis Enlargement pop-ups are everywhere. The technicians really need to look into that.

I was at school doing some computer work i logged on to a political site looking for some info...and wouldn't you know it-porn pop-ups everywhere from Whitehouse.com (a porn site with a misleading title). "get some free ass" and "f*ck for free" types of ads. I guess Dubbya ain't gettin any poontang
|
No popups for me, but alot of spam mails about how to get some-1's e-mail password...

Make sure to have a free copy of Adaware, or some other form of spyware remover if you get pop ups all the time. I have a pop up blocker but some on like MSN always come up about trying to see some stupid movie, so I just try and use esc as much as I can.

The ones that annoy me most are the ones that always, ALWAYS say "click "yes" to proceed!" and won't piss off until you've clicked "yes", which starts a download of something or another. Usually they're advertising sites for mobile phone ringtones, and I rather like my phone as it is, thank you. *grs* That or "click 'yes' to enter site!" with only the option of clicking yes, and while you're trying to figure out how to close it a giant image of a woman fingering herself covers the entire screen in that gory detail porn sites are so good at. Not good when you're trying to work in a crowded public library. One of my friends got banned off the Uni system for that happening, too - she appealed against it and got her computing right back, but it's still a pain in the arse to have to worry about it happening to you.
Annoys me that I can't install popup blockers on these PCs any more, since they changed the system, but now it looks like our firewall catches a lot. |

Have anyone of you even had those WhenU Search or WeatherCast-thingies installed on your pc? I mean like, I get that stuff all the time. Mostly when I go to a smaller gaming site, this pop-up comes and it says the following; "Congrats! WeatherCast/WhenU Search was succesfully installed!" (...hurrah...) So there I have it. During this week, I had to un-install WhenU Search for about four times. ...how annoying... :fuzmad: |
