What do you sound like? V1

Seemed like a good idea. I've been thinking about it for a while, but was going to wait until I bought a new microphone for the PC. I still don't have a mic.....I was just impatient and thought I'd get this thread started.

Anyway, if you don't get the concept, I will explain. Record your voice, host it on a site*, and link it here for everyone to listen to.

Rule #1: No long speeches.....just a simple "Hello" will do.

Rule #2: No foul language or inapropriate talk.

Any breaking of these rules will result in me being angry, which you don't want.

I think that's it. Have fun!:fuzwink:

A nice idea, I just have to reconfigure my microphone and things should be good to start recording.

Mac the Janitor 12-19-2003 02:00 AM

Heh, this could be fun. I'll try to post mine as soon as I can.

Alcar 12-19-2003 03:59 AM

I don't have a program that can actually record my voice. I did however, see on a School computer a little tool that allowed you to do so. It seemed as if it was a MicroSoft standard program too - so is there a program to record my voice?

Alcar...

Facsimile 12-19-2003 05:00 AM

'Sound Recorder' is the standard Windows program. Try download it. I believe 'CoolEdit' also works.
I might record my voice, but I'm not too happy with it right now. It sounds awesome in my head, and I can do any impersonation, but when I hear it played to me, it sounds nothing like what I hear!
Argh!

My God, I've been like that for years! I think it's been one of the major factors that contributed to my selective mutism (which, I'm sure you're all very excited to know, I'm overcoming in leaps and bounds! :D). Anyway, a fantastic idea, but given my computer's stability, one I'm going to withhold from for now.

Hey, did I ever even get round to posting my picture?

Dude, I know what ya mean. I sound sooo cool...to myself, but one time I left a message on the family voice machine and upon deleting it I heard myself and.....Argh!:flames: I sounded like I was very homosexual. Anyway, I think the difference is that we hear our own voices internally....like how you can hear yourself chew.....and when we hear our voices from an external point it's not the same, so it sounds way different to us.

I have no opinion.

I would of haved post my voice, but my Adobe PhotoShop7.0 trial has expired 4 days ago.:fuzsad:

I have a speaker for my PC but I can't find it.*Lays head on Elum with a sigh*If only the trial was longer...*Crys on Elum's neck*

Al the Vykker 12-19-2003 11:47 PM

Yeah, I know how you feel. Until my voice deepened I really didnt like how I sounded when I heard messages I had left. I sound so different to myself.

But now, I like my voice since its a lot deeper and sounds a lot better.

Wolfpac 12-20-2003 10:14 AM

Sounds like it could be fun. So who's up for some Karaoke?

It's not exactly hard to do that. Sorry to all the people who in my past that I have prank called and acted in a camp style.

If I get this thing to work, I'll put on some stupid accent or something for you all ;)

I really don't want this thread to die......I thought it was a good idea. Someome, please post your voice! Yeah, I know...I'm a hypocrite. My microphone is dead, so that's why I can't post mine. But if I did have a mic, I would post my voice.

-oddguy:rolleyes:

Al the Vykker 01-13-2004 02:59 PM

Well, I guess I could I have a mircrophone and such. What program or what do you have to use to record your voice onto your comp?

oddguy 01-13-2004 04:10 PM

Okay, Windows always has a nice sound recorder. To get there, you go to START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, ENTERTAINMENT.....then click on SOUND RECORDER. To use it, just plug your mic into the PC and click record(the red dot), then you can say what you want. After you're finished, save it. Then you can publish it to a website and link it here at the OWF.

Al the Vykker 01-13-2004 04:52 PM

Yeah, I totally forgot that program existed. Well thanks for telling me where to find it. I guess I'll have to try and recording that after I get through all this homework...

paramiteabe 01-13-2004 06:17 PM

This is sweet I do have that program I just need a microphone and a web address where I can put my recording.

I can host the voices on my angelfire or geocities sites. I have lots of space. Just send me an e-mail and attach the sound file.

Mojo 01-15-2004 05:08 AM

I think it's a great Idea!

About the hosting:

I dunno how much space those files consume, but you might have a look at this site: Gives you 30 Mb of storing space, but the maximum uploadable size is 3 MB...

I use it to store banners, though...

Armed Slig 01-15-2004 07:17 AM

I like the concept. oddguy, I'll get a .wav file to you in no time at all.

Al the Vykker 01-15-2004 11:22 AM

Wow! Jay I havent seen you around here in a long time, welcome back. :)

Anyways, I'm just having a bit of difficulties with getting to use my dad's computer (its got the mic). So perhaps friday I can get it recorded.

oddguy 01-19-2004 02:08 PM

So it begins...

PA sent me a wav file via e-mail and I uploaded it to my site. Here it is!

Voice of Paramiteabe!

-oddguy :fuzcool:

paramiteabe 01-19-2004 06:01 PM

Yay you got my recording up sweet! Thanks Oddguy. Now you know what I sound like and look like. I am looking forward to hearing your voices too. Is my voice what you thought it was going to sound like or were you surprised? hehe!

Paramiteabe... :fuzblink:

oddguy 01-19-2004 06:18 PM

Well, I always forget that you're 22, so you sounded older than I thought. :fuzwink:

-oddguy :fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 01-19-2004 06:39 PM

Its so strange to finally hear what you sound like anyways, that was cool though and I was surprised. Allright, be expecting an email from me hopefully tomorrow Oddguy.

I have a feeling you guys will be maybe a bit surprised with my voice, just as people were when they first saw what I looked like, I guess in a good way. :p

Wil 01-19-2004 11:11 PM

Hahaha, well done PA! It's so freaky hearing your voice. Now I know what you sound like, tee hee hee. *over excited*

I'm still contemplating whether or not to take my picture for you all. Or, more importantly, how.

LuLu_Fund 01-19-2004 11:54 PM

A very interesting idea, I like it. I think anyone can do it, you don't even need a microphone, just a pair of headphones can work as mics, right?

The Red Muse 01-20-2004 01:12 AM

I don't have a microphone... O_o and I'm not even sure if I have that ---Windows recorder... thing...

Anyway, I sound ...like a bastard.

Yeah, like a bastard with bad lungs.
...yay... Go me!

:p

Never heard that before, but I tried it anyway. Doesn't work. You need a mic.
Oh, and I'm glad everybody likes this thread...makes we feel warm and fuzzy inside.:p

Well, while I'm waiting for new voices to come in, I thought I'd post up this Abe impersonation by a forum member. Can you guess who it is?
