This image is part of the standard test for color blindness. Individuals with normal color vision will see the number 57, while those with red-green deficiencies will see the number 35. Color blindness, an inability to distinguish between red and green and sometimes between blue and yellow, is caused by a defect in one of the three color-sensitive cells in the retina. Color blindness affects approximately one person in thirty.

i see the 57. but i think it would've been better if you didn't tell us what number we're supposed to see, i mean colour blind people aren't incapable of lying.

I am not color blind. I think I would know after being around for almost 16 years now. :P

Not true Al. A lot of people have to do tests to realise they are colour blind. The idea of that one is to have lots of the same idea pictures, and you have to answer them within a very short time, otherwise you can stare it for ages and figure it out. We are tested these in schools.

True. I think I had those tests done a long time ago, can't really remember them though. We might have had them done back in our early years of school, not entirely sure though. Anyways, I think life would have definately been a lot duller for me if I had been color blind.

Lots of people posting here are assuming that a colorblind person only see's black and white - this is not true. Someone who is colorblind CAN see colors, but can't make out the difference between red and yellow, or green and blue - they just look the same.

So you could be forgiven for living till 16 before you ever found out you were colorblind.

Yeah, like my science teacher is colourblind to red, so when red kind of stands out for us, it is very dull for him, but blue is his counterstrength, which appears very bright for him.
