how do you use headphones on the X-box

Hobo 11-28-2003 05:21 PM

You have to use to use them on the TV, as you would any console.

Darn I got to go figer it out then.

That's not true hobo...

... the MegaDrive allowed you to plug your headphones into it for sterio sound.
Don't think the X-Box has that though.

Just plug the headphones in the hole in your TV that says 'Phones' or something. It's not rocket science.

I don't have Xbox Live, so forgive my ignorance. With Xbox Live, you get that headphone / microphone thingy. Does THAT get plugged into the Xbox? As I don't see how a TV could process the incoming sounds from a microphone.

I don't have it either, but you hav to plug a device into the memory card slots at the back of the controller.

The headset does get plugged into a little thing that goes into one of the slots on top of the system, and then, the volume for hearing the peoples voice can be adjusted, mute them, or not let them hear you.

It however does not allow you to hear the sounds from the game on your tv.

Most television sets have built-in speakers, and hence don't have line out sockets. Unless you guys are hiding things from me again.

*remembers last time* Pffft, rich boys.

As far as I know, you are right Max. We have a range of TVs in our house, small and large, old and new. Only one of the small ones has a headphones socket. The others don't.

We have five TV's and three of them have it. Two bigs, and one small. I thought it was fairly common.

Yeah only my newer T.V. that has a dvd drive and vhs player has the headphone jacks. The other few T.V.'s such as the big screen one dont because they are a few years or more older.
