"elf" - is it a rip-off?
Since I know there are Terry Pratchett fans here, I'll get straight to the point.
Does the new Christmas movie "elf" (a story about a human who grew up as an elf) remind anyone of Carrot from the book "Guards! Guards!" The idea of the plot seems almost the exact same, a socialy mal-adjusted kid going to live amongst people his own size. Anyone agree, or is it just me? |
I never read the book. The movie was good though.

A social misfit going into a different scenario isn't near an original idea. It's probably just coincidence that a more detailed plot is similar.
|
Actualy, the idea hadn't occured to me before you said it. But it is a suspicious coincidence. I haven't watched Elf, but i've read Guards! Guards!
|
It is a little strange, but it might just be a coincidence.
And there are still 3 T's in Pratchett. (Hint, Hint, change your sig!) |
I don't think they are alike at all.

*acts like Abe* I dunno
maybe, we may never know *Twilight Zone music* |
