The server your banned is hosted on may have daily / monthly bandwidth limits, thus your image will not be displayed.

My banner is hosted under the Oddworld Universe server. Oddworld Universe, Oddworld-Web and the Oddworld Forums are all hosted on the one server. Plus the unfinished / secret websites none of you mere mortals know about ;)
