OMG! I am incredibly angry at OWI at the moment.... I sent them an email, and letter about my Oddworld site (For anyone that doesn't know... just take a look at my sig ;) Oddworld Online) to say that it was up and everything... and they still havent judged it yet...

Oh well.. Maybe I'm a little too selfish. Sorry OWI! How could I stay angry at you for this long... ;)?

By the way, why do they update their site so little these days?

better than nothing... I didn't expected any updates at all in fact

:

with new editions of the Daily Deception
this is sweet, even sweeter when you know they promised us some clues about the next game in it... but, please not too much hipe, maybe not in the first editions of it

EDIT: HOLY SHIT!!!
they need Game testers
:

Game Tester
Oddworld Inhabitants is in immediate need for a Game Tester. If you like to be challenged by video games and are a game enthusiast, this is the opportunity for you.

The ideal candidate is a hardcore gamer who excels at finding bugs and describing the bugs they've found in an organized and clear fashion. Job duties include database entry, working closely with a team of developers, and hours upon hours of game playing.

Game Tester MUST be available to start on December 1, 2003, and be able to work full-time at our San Luis Obispo, California studio. Applicants must also be available to work nights and weekends, when required. This is a temporary, full-time, entry-level position. Project will run through December 23, 2003

Requirements:
Passion for computer and console video games.
Strong familiarity with the Xbox.
Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision.
Good communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to write bug reports and ensure detail and accuracy of findings.
Experience with video game audio systems (XACT experience a plus).
Technical background or previous experience testing games a plus.
I would love to be part of it :crying:

Wil 11-01-2003 08:14 AM

Damn... I might not be able to apply :(

There'd probably be a cetificate of confidentiality to sign, though, so whichever lucky bastich gets this position wouldn't be able to leak anything. Nevertheless, if there's anyone on the Forums with enough ability, availability and a willingness to break a certain contract, GO FOR IT!

:p

Man, I'm quite excited for December. This new game looks INCREDIBLY awesome, especially the Steef's undisguised form. I have to give whoever came up with that character design MAJOR kudos. It's simply the awesomest of the awesomest.

Im really glad to hear that the daily deception will be back next month. Hopefully the update next month will be really good.:fuzwink:

Miss Odd 11-01-2003 10:22 PM

AAAHHHH! OMG :) If I lived... over there... I would be the first person to volunteer for the video game testing!!!!!

AAAHHHH!!! Is anyone that is an Oddworld fan allowed to volunteer?

Mac... how did you see the pics? I don't know where to go to see some pics of Steef... :(

I am looking forward to December but I am not hopeing for much. As much as I would love to be a volenteer for that I prefer to wait until release because the surprise for me will be absolutely original just like it was for Abe's Oddessy. As I look at this I am glad they are not saying much of anything because for all of us fans it will indeed be a long awaited surprise. I can't wait until the day I will be able to explore Steef, and all of its surprises that has been kept secret from us for two years now. I can't wait until I see the Steef's smileing mug on my screen. As I drool thinking about it.

I would just like some nice non spoiler type screenshots, that dont give away much, but at the same time give us something more to talk about.

me too... but you know me, even if there are tons of spoilers I will look at the picture or read the article, I do need new stuff so much

Majic 11-02-2003 07:10 PM

Actually, I'd rather hope no one on the forums goes for it. It would be absolute hell not being able to tell anything, and it really does need to be a true hardcore gamer. Gameplay flaws and bugs need to be minimal, and there needs to be someone who can figure those things out.

oddguy 11-02-2003 08:23 PM

I would love to be a game tester for OW4, but I'd rather be surprised when it comes out and everything is final. I'd hate to play early and then see something cool in the first version taken out or changed in the final product.

-oddguy:fuzcool:

Al the Vykker 11-03-2003 01:44 AM

I personally would not do that, because as stated earlier, you might have major plot points or game features spoiled before you can actually enjoy the final version. Added to the fact you wouldnt be able to tell anyone what you know, for legal issues. I would not want to know all types of things for OW4, and not even be able to share it with other OW fans.

Wil 11-03-2003 02:41 PM

Personally, I find a sick kind of enjoyment in knowing things that other people don't/can't. :p I guess, though, that while I would be upset if I was expecting something to be in the game which didn't make it, but I do find it interesting in retrospect to know what could have been. For instance, did you know that an early incarnation of Abe's Oddysee had Abe as a monk and Molluck as the leader of a sinister cult - well, something like that. Or that jumping could very well have been left out of Munch's Oddysee?

Xavier 11-03-2003 04:19 PM

Max... we do know, we do know... you know lots of things
can we have more infos about that monk thing?

Wil 11-03-2003 07:14 PM

Actually that's pretty much it. I'd find the exact quote from Paul O'Connor, but it's late. I'll search for it tomorrow.

Nate 11-03-2003 11:49 PM

If they're advertising for a tester, that means that the game must be in the final stage of development.

This means:

(1) No major plot points would be taken out (just any bugs or possibly a plot point that the testers said was stupid)

(2) The game should be coming out soonish.

Note: It said that the tester's job would be finished on December 23rd!

Xavier 11-04-2003 05:28 PM

if everything goes well I think we can expect the game to be shipped early in 2004

I would have applied for that ... if I had got lucky in the Green Card lottery this year. Damn! Oh well, maybe one day I'll get a US work visa... I'll just keep trying.
