The gravity of Oddworld!

Mann How can I stoop to this level of creating a topic such as this? I really must be bored!

Anyway If Oddworld is 10 times bigger than earth won't the gravity crush the inhabitants? Or do you think there could be some kind of strange technology at work here keeping everything on Oddworld from crushing under the heavy pressure of gravity since Oddworld is larger than earth?
What are your theories?

They just adapted to it. If WE were sent to Oddworld, we would be crushed, like we would when we'd go very deep in our oceans. Still, there are living creatures there. So I'd figure it is the same on Oddworld...

I will let Max answer to this, he is better than me on this point (like lots of other points in fact)

but there are allready plenty of theories about this

Yeah I think Max explained this long ago, cant really remember though. But the common theory is they have just adapted to the higher gravity forces of oddworld over the billions of years, or how ever old the planet is.

This was brought up during the whole map fiasco with Alf. Do a search for "oddworld map" and you'll get some pretty established theories.

I'm not particularly the expert when it comes to planetary science, Anna and Dan were always much better, but just search 'gravity', you're bound to come up with stuff.

Also note that if Oddworld's gravity is greater than ours, Elums, Greeters and Slogs just couldn't support themselves. I say Oddworld's gravity is equal to our own - if creatures such as Mudokons had adapted to surviving under greater atmospheric pressure, they're mass would have increased, but since they don't have a particularly interesting terminal velocity, I think we can assume Oddworld's gravitational pull is approximately 1G. That's as far as I can calculate at the moment, but I'm sure that a planet's gravitational pull is dependent not on size, but more on mass (what the planet is composed of, essentially) and centrafugal force (its spinning).
