Is this forum dead?

Hi

God I haven't been here in ages... wonder why that could be... oh yeah cause I have a life!

Compliments aside, just wondered whether this pool of radiance that you call OWF is still drawing air. Well? Is it? :fuzconf:

Do you all still think Oddworld is the best game in the world or have you finally moved on?

Wow two questions and already I've run out of ideas, so I'll just suggest you all visit www.eve-online.com.

I suggest you visit www.eve-online.com. :D

Regards,
Kuro5hin. Yes, thats right, Kuro5hin.

Majic 10-23-2003 10:00 AM

Oh shit, you mean I don't have a life just because I visit this forum?;)

Oddworld isn't the best game ever, and probably won't be. Just because this is the Oddworld Forums doesn't mean we all worship it.

Wil 10-23-2003 11:10 AM

Oddworld's my favourite game series, and that's all you need know to explain why I come here. As for OWI dying, well that would be a shame, but it's not the end of the world. I've got most of the important people here on MSN.

I really doubt this place would die, though, since there are plenty of members who just seem hell bent on sticking about.

I'd visit your link, but I'm on a school computer, and I have to be in off-games in five minutes to do my geography coursework. I won't, though, I'll continue my poem about how much I love Jonny.

Welcome back.

I do hope you will help Mac with the Oddlympics. He's been left alone to do it all by himself.

Alcar...

Thats because he stopped emailing me about it. If you can get him to email me back about it then maybe we can get it started...

I've been busy with a game called EVE Online - its a multiplayer online universe, where players own huge corporations, massive starships, and lots of money. It seriously is the best game ever.

I've also been busy making myself a brand new office/study/room for my computers. It's all minimalist and futuristic, it looks cool. I'll post pictures later when it looks less like a condemned council flat with a fancy light fitting.

I've ALSO been busy with the recent PC release of HALO. Installing it on the new computers and upgrading old ones. My suggestion to all those that have been thinking about getting it, is that unless you happen to have a particularly large amount of ram, a very powerful processor and a high end graphics card, don't bother. Although the XBOX controls are lame, the graphics look much better on the console, unless its on a high end PC.

So I have been busy, busy, busy - quite literally! I'll try and visit this forum a little more to help mac a bit with the Oddlympics, although the times I go on forums are usually to do my administration work on www.eve-i.com.

Some of you may have noticed that my English is now spectacularly good - I have decided to use it as my main language, and to move to england, Russia is becoming a very, very dangerous place to live now. I'll post more on that another time maybe.

Good to see that you are all still alive, and that majic is still his usual sarcastic self. :fuzwink:

Regards,
Kenny Avesome - lol.

He didn't leave me to do it alone...it was just that all we could do is what I could do, which is develop the games. He did his part, though.

Oh, and by the way...DEFINITE startup of the Oddlympics 2.0 next Monday. No matter what. It's taking way too long, and frankly, it's pissing me off.

Codek 10-23-2003 12:28 PM

why is frank pissing you off?

LOL ok monday it is then.

Gosh. Really sounds like it, too.

Codek 10-23-2003 03:30 PM

I can see you are really trying hard to come out with something intelligent and witty, but to be honest I'll just have to spoil it by pointing out the fact that anyone who has the time to found a forum really isnt in the position to make a sarcastic retort about how active someones real world life is - or whether indeed they even have one.

Thankyou.

EDIT: May I also point out that the time I spend on forums is spare time while my friends are at college and the EVE Online gameservers are down - My usual routine consists of getting up, getting dressed, getting online, checking email, playing EVE Online for a bit, going out to get lunch, coming back, going out to a bar/nightclub/cinema, coming back home, having something to eat, getting online, checking email, playing EVE Online for a bit, going to bed.

As you can see, I normally dont have time for forums.

Majic 10-23-2003 03:35 PM

Not meaning to take side, but wait a sec... is that how you found that other forum of yours and this new online game thing?

Is what how I found the other forum of mine and my new online game thing?

Are you talking about spending lots of time on the net?

The internet is a part of my life, I dont deny that, it just isnt such a big part of my life that I spend all of my time on a forum - in fact as my recent absence has proved, I dont have much time for forums.

I spend most my time with my friends, or as much time as possible, and any time I am not spending with friends, goes towards playing EVE Online, setting up my network and visiting forums.

Hobo 10-23-2003 03:46 PM

Oh god, he remembered us.... thank god for these shadows for me to keep disappearing into. *Disappears into shadow*

Actually what reminded me was a reply to thread email that I got earlier today.

Wil 10-23-2003 05:30 PM

Death, not to try and be irritating (God, please no "You don't need to try, haw haw haw" jokes), but it seems over half your routine involves EVE Online.

Anyway, I'm still bored of people trying to prove they have lives from when Jacob first joined. If you reckon certain people here don't have lives, live with it, don't jumble together completely pointless speeches about it. I'd forgotten how irritating it is.

Yes it does at the moment - once my friends are all out of college I'll just spend time with them playing lan games. :P

Majic 10-23-2003 09:18 PM

So... you don't go to college?

Anyways, I wish I had less of a life. Marching band takes up at least 8 hours a week with after school rehearsals, plus a football game every Friday or Saturday night. Then I'm in all advanced classes which piles homeowrk onto my actual spare time, I find it cuts my computer time and random time down quite a bit.

Le sigh. If only I didn't have to sleep.

Awwww, just don't do you homework. Honestly, it works for me. You just need to know how to lie real good ;)

No, what would be the point?

Majic 10-24-2003 12:24 AM

Good point, with your grandeur inheritence and all, you don't need to actually learn how to earn and live out a real life in the midst of the world, like most of us do;)

Though aren't you even curious to get at least a semi-real education? You can't mooch off other people forever, and its actually possible to fail in the stock market.

I founded these forums, what, like four years ago? A lot can change in four years. For example, I now have breasts.

Wow, you spend a lot of time on the internet. I only come on once a day...

Seargentbig 10-24-2003 07:36 AM

I was gonna have this really witty responce telling people not to visit http://www.eve-i.com./, but I decided against it. Go nuts.

Alcar 10-24-2003 10:28 AM

I've changed quite a lot since my arrival on the forums. In a way, I'd say the forums, especially the members have helped me develop in some grateful way.

I don't need to post a summary of how my social life has changed for the better, as I don't need that satisfaction to make me feel 'big'.

Those that do are only kidding themselves.

Now THERE'S a game!
I got it at a ridiculously reduced price of €6.99, and that was the collecters edition! (Okay, the "chainmail" figure was badly bent, but still!)

As for the forums... I don't realy use the OW areas anymore. I'm more a social visitor.

I don't spend "a lot" of time on the internet, but enough time to enjoy myself and get things done. In other words I don't clear my schedual to play online games or visit forums, I just do it whenever I have free time.

Which I have had alot more of lately.

I was going to post a reply to everyone elses comment but I really cant be bothered.

oddguy 10-25-2003 02:14 AM

It seems that certain people need to state over and over that they have a life, which almost makes it sound like they need to reasure themselves. Anyway, I like these forums and no matter how 'dead' it may be at the moment, I'm here to stay.

It is good to see ya, Death. You make things exciting around here. Just admit you like us though! Come on, ya know ya do! Why else would you keep posting if you didn't luv us!:D

I like some of you, but not all. There are some that only demand excuses and reasons from their input, and there are others who actually genuinely add content and interest, these people make it worthwhile to put up with everyone elses shit.

I could just ignore everyone who argues with me, but arguments can sometimes be pretty entertaining. ;)

Facsimile 10-26-2003 03:00 AM

I'm going to go pop a blister that lays on my finger.
