some ppl like it some ppl dont oh well:)

oddguy 09-30-2003 05:55 PM

Some people actually get really into that game. There are even orginazations within the little sim world, like the sims maffia. I actually heard a case of someone suing the leader of the sim maffia after the maffia had trashed everything this person had built within the game. The plantif called it "online discrimination."

I have it for Xbox though, I found it very addictive. But know I think it's boring. I will get into it again, I just don't know when.

Joshy 09-30-2003 10:12 PM

Too many expansions.... Have you heard? Sims 2 is coming out. The graphics are so much better now.

guitar kid 10-01-2003 07:10 AM

Silversnow 10-03-2003 09:03 PM

It's quite boring when you've played it for a while, but when you start to download cool stuff, it becomes more fun...

lindsey 10-03-2003 11:11 PM

nads 10-03-2003 11:59 PM

It's fun burning kids.

lindsey 10-04-2003 01:06 AM

I kinda like the sims, I have three expansions: Vacation, Unleashed and House Party. My mate has all of the expansions, he says it's OK having all expansions, but it slows the game down.

Here is a Screen Shot of Sims 2:

as you can see, the facial expressions are much better than the Sims 2.

Facsimile 10-05-2003 06:31 AM

Wow cool. I wonder if they will still talk like complete retards. I do hope so.

They don't have facial expressions at all in the sims...

Meh. I hate the Sims. It is so boring. I have no idea why people get into it, but each to their own. There are people that hate Oddworld and FF. But to be so popular ... I just don't understand that.

But to me, the game just seems like a whole giant reality TV show. And I hate them too. So that's probably why I don't like it at all. It's just so boring.

You can make your family and friends and then kill them. Great for handling stress, believe me...

Disgruntled Intern 10-07-2003 04:12 AM

I liked the sims.

The PC version gives you a bit more control than the ps2 and Xbox versions, but they're still just as entertaining.

My friend had a 'murder' patch that he downloaded, which allowed sims to kill eachother. On some little scenario thing, he had to move out from his friends house, get a job, and rent his own house.

Instead, he made his sim kill all of his friends and just take that house.

It was very amusing.

I have one really disfunctional family on my pc version, where I have the 'psychopathic sims' patch downloaded, so violent J and Shaggy of ICP live in a big ass house together, with three women who are all in love with J.

Anyway, they have two kids. One of them gets everything she wants, because she's great. The other one was always crying, so I bricked her inside of her own room with no toys, and a tiny ass bed. She doesn't have windows or lights, either...I drop food off in her room every two 'sim' days.

She's now really evil, and attacks her sister. I think I might drown her soon.

Cloverfield 10-07-2003 12:19 PM

Wow DI, you actually put a whole new perspective on The Sims. I never knew you could do cooly evil stuff like that.

Dont you:p I just normally burn my sims and just drown them. Also i create characters which has no personality so they have fights. I also have created a room for a child that has nothing in it. So the child was just shitting and sleeping in the same place:p

Sorry my mistake, I mean sims 2.

I have The Sims Deluxe (which I was forced to get after I lost both my original CD AND Livin' Large, and my game got craped too much). Then I have Hot Date, Vacation, and Unleashed. Vacation isn't all that great. Hot date and Unleashed are da' bomb though. I like going to downtown or on vacation so I can live as a hobo, since you can't die in those places. Its also fun to start hating on everyone, and causing lots of fights while there, since you can't move away either.

I made a pimp version of myself once... Well, artificial pimp. I made amny a red potion so many girls would fall in love with me. I could have my guy come home from work as a bookie, and make out with 3 girls before going to bed. Woohoo.

The stereotypical merciless slaughter of sims is also still relatively fun, if I do variations upon standards. With unleashed, I was able to make a public pool since you can build community lots within the city. Hooray... Public pool + people equals... um... nothing quite mathematical, but you get the point.

That murder patch sounds kick ass. is there one for the PC version? I'm assuming you mean the patch was for PS2/X box, since there was a scenario involved.

Joshy 10-08-2003 09:53 PM

Have you guys got the new expansion the sims superstar? you can actually goto hollywood to become a star and stalkers stalk you. You can also meet other stars, i met Christina Aguilera... boy was she hot in the game.. hehe...

Majic 10-08-2003 11:02 PM

Tis' a shame theres not a nudity patch for NPCs, at least for Superstar, ain't it?;)

Anyways, I never really bothered getting it. I thought about it, and its only like 20$, but from what I know it doesn't add much besides that. I'm content with my current selection. Besides, if I want to get new items anymore, I just download things more to my taste. I have many a set of downloaded furniture that i think is a bit mroe realistic.

Disgruntled Intern 10-09-2003 04:05 AM

Yes, Dave, it was a patch for the xbox version.

My friend, as well as I, have Mod-Chipped Xbox consoles. Instead of paying the two hundred dollars for some douche bag to do it, I just did it my self. Relatively easy, with minor unscrewing, screwing, and soldering involved.

I have no idea where he got the patch. He won't give it to me, because he's a stingy bastard.

I prefer the PC version, but xbox keeps me just as amused. Especially when I am spun/Twacked.
