The new art request thread idea for FC/ Do you like it or hold off on the idea.
 

Well with careful thinking and discussion of my Art request thread idea for FC with the other mods I thought I might aswell get a poll from the general OWF public and see if I should go through with it.

What it is, is that people who would want to have their stories in FC have illustraitions to them, can do so by requesting for an illustraition in this thread. Which then I would consider and do the illustraition. Also I was maybe planning on takeing applicants for possible helper artist around the forums who could help me out with it. But here is the down side of this that I was addressed about. It could become annoying in some aspects because people would want to create their own thing with their own hands without comming to a thread and relying on someone else to do it. That could be a problem. I can see this maybe being popular for a few weeks but die out. I was inspired by the picture request idea over in GD. I thought why not do a similar idea but with artwork? So there we go thats the idea. What do you think I should do? Go through with this or hold off and do something else.

Now I am open to suggestion to this idea to make it more attractive. For instance you don't have to go to this thread if you don't want to. Its just that this would be a place open for you to use at your own will thats all. Not a manditory place where you must go because its the rules and that you can't draw and you can't do it your self. Thats not what this is about. Its just another tool you could use makeing your stories thats all. So what do you think? I am for your suggestions. I will do everything in my power with Al to make your ideas possible for FC.

Just make sure you have enough time. T'would be bad to leave someone waiting or expecting. I mean, even quality illustrations for 1 story would be a decent undertaking.

I think you should go for it, but i think its gonna waste alot of your spare time though...

Anyways, i would like to congratulate P.A of his thoughtfullness after being mod.

If it's alright, I wouldn't mind being a helper artsit for FC.:fuzblink: I think it's a good idea PA, and I hope it becomes very popular. You could add lots of different artists for a good range of style, and you wouldn't have too much work piled on you if every OWF artist helped out.

Well if I do this I might do it as a summer thing because I am in school but I don't know I still need to meet with Al at MSN and we need to discuss our plans. His PC been acting up lately so I havent had a chance to sit and talk with him about this. He is aware of it though.

Actually makeing an illustraition doesnt take real long for me to do when I know all the info about its descriptions. usually two hours to the max is how long it would take me to cook up an illustraition when I know what its going to be. The reason why it takes me long in my stories is because I am trying figure out what I want to draw next and what I need to write about. That takes weeks for me because I think really careful about it to get it just right to match what I draw. Because the first idea may not be what I am looking for. Thats where the helper artist come into play on this.

Yeah, I'm writting a story as well. I'm just trying to get my writting at a point where I like it, so it's gonna take a while. As for illuistrating my story, I don't really worry about which pic goes where.....yet. I just draw a lot of different brainstorm pics that I can later choose from. I draw as much as I can!:fuzgrin: I owe OW some credit for inspiring me. I started drawing since I was little, but my work started to blossum after I started drawing sligs. Anyway, I'll quit ranting away.

I'm all for expanding the fan corner. Oddworld has always been about art anyways.

Ive changed my mind Grig I will do something more simpler. Im doing a character request thread instead of scenes. A lot less effort on my part. I posted a message asking for maybe assistent Artist for it.

Character design is so much easier and less time consuming that I can whip up characters real quickly that it won't take my personal time away. Speaking of which I almost have your character Saros done Grig.

Now he has disignes on his body right?
