Saving AO game
I found it really hard finding place and time to play Abe's Oddysee on PS1, so I ended up buying the CD-ROM version for PC!
It's much harder game than I anticipated, anyway, I keep saving the game point I'm at regularly, but when I load it up, it doesn't seem to load at the point in the game where I saved it, but it seems, at the beginning of the area/platform at which the game was saved. Am I not able to save the game at a certain point of the level at all?? Thanks for any responses in advance. |
Whenever you save in AO, you'll start at the last Square you saw. This mean, whenever you walk into certain screens, a blue square appears over your head. That's the screen you start in when you load.

Thanks AlphaScrab... also, I'm at RuptureFarms p18-p20, and I've gone into that Zulag door where a birdportal flies round the lever to open its door. I went in there, and into the next door where I assume transports me to Zulag 2, but I can't get any further as the next door after I got transported is locked.
I've been to the lift down to RuptureFarms 19/20 where I get to an electric door if I walk to the next area on the right, and I don't know where I can turn off this electric barrier? Do you know what I should do next? |
You were on the right trail, only you don't have to go right, to the electric barrier, but to the left. A lever there brings down an elevator. Go check it out. Oh yeah, 1 hint. See those Grenades? Remember a place with lots of mines inside some pits? Clear them with the 'nades to find a secret area.

Those mines in the pits.... is that where I have already been or in the stockyard? 'Cos I found the stockyard, but then my mudokon casualties went up, I had 0 and they went up by 7 or something. Do I need to go back and kill the slig that I passed in the shadows to RuptureFarms 18?
|
You know why your casualty count went up? Because you didn't save the Muds in the Secret Areas. Look behind barrels and inside pits. (There's one in the very first screen, and in the screen where you turn off the electricity. Or was it the screen with the ring on the cord???)

I found them. thanks!
