The area I live in is so heavily polluted that mars appears as a dim, yellowish orb in the sky.

Extremely frustrated by this, I took a drive up to the mountains with some friends and had a spectacular view there.

Sure, I missed a couple days of school...But Mars only comes but once every 60,000 years, right?

i saw it. But i dont see whats so interesting about a big red ball in the sky.

Forteantimes told me that Mars was approaching Earth, and I spotted it once from my bedroom window, and gave it a quick glance. I was interested then. About a week later, the media become semi-saturated with it, and then it got boring. On the one hand I've missed it, but on the other hand there are still telescopes, so it's not like I'll never see it again.

Used to be quite interested in astronomy, but cosmology intrigues me just so much more, and I have to say I'm even more interested by the other end of the scale - far below the atomic level, M Theory, quantum computers, the essence of sentiency, etc.

Wow, how about that, it's approaching the second anniversary of me discovering the magnificence of Mars Bars...

Our best time for viewing was about 3 weeks ago. Are you guys just slow, or has it just gotten good for you now, or what?

That was what I was thinking while reading it. When I talked about going out to see it in reference to me, I was talking about a few weeks ago.

I just took it for granted that others were reminiscing the time they went out to see it.

for weeks building up to the day I could see a large star in the sky that was Mars. My sister's wedding was on the day that it was closest to Canada. I could see the star.
Then on the week when it was closest a massive layer of clouds settled over most of England, meaning I missed it completely when it was more than an extra large star:rant:  :( :fuzsad: :crying: . Oh cruel fait!!! How I hate you!
