Anyone working at Oddworld?

Hello,

It just made me wonder, is there anyone here working at Oddworld??
It would be cool to talk to one of the workers

Anyways back on subject...

Alf does come occasionally, you just have to look out for him, and be here at the right time, or on oddchat at the right time.

I ain't seen him Alf either, maybe I'll search for some of his last posts...

Maybe there is someone on the forums... who works for Oddworld... slowly jotting down each of our creative opinions... for upcoming games... we are the voices and fans lol!

I used to see Alf alot on Oddchat but work ruined that for me. I also used to see him on the forums quite a bit but he hasn't been on as much. He usally tends to come when we have a worthwhile question, in which case he answers.

Al the Vykker 08-31-2003 01:40 AM

The last time I saw alf on oddchat was at the beginning of June. Only myself and Majic were there. Thats where he said to watch DC soon, and I asked if it was on the same program for halo 2, etc. He said it was, and also stated that the stuff was from last september, and that the only thing we would see for a few months or more. Plus he added, it should give you guys a lot to talk about for a while.

He added a few small things, and majic and I talked with him, but then he was once again gone.

Forbidden Paradise 08-31-2003 02:26 AM

It would be good if he showed up every set amount of days, or weeks. But I bet he is silently watching, waiting for a worthy question to pop up, so he can give us some more wisdom. Oh well, we all have other things to do....

I know you're there Alf... AREN'T YOU!

oddguy 08-31-2003 02:48 AM

Maybe we should start a thread dedicated to Alf, and maybe he'll show up.:fuzzle:

I dream of working there. Unfortunately I don't live in the US, which decreases my chances, seeing I'd need to get a Green Card, etc.

I haven't seen Alf around for a long time, but I am sure that is because they are pretty busy there.

well yeah, like everybody said...
he comes sometimes on Oddchat, sometimes on the Forums, and you can allways contact him by email

oddguy 08-31-2003 06:33 PM

Alf always writes those cleverly funny monthly columns at the OWI homepage, right? Anyway, those always make me laugh!

The bad thing in Dear Alf is that he doesent give real comment. I just hate that. I e-mailed him just a few weeks ago about MO, why they cutted so much of!! And the only thing he posted back was some stupid joke. :flames: :flames: :flames:

Mojo 09-04-2003 06:06 PM

Yep, that sounds like the Alf-man. Though I've never seen him on Oddchat, and rarely on the forums... Maybe I should visit OC more often...

Oh I don't know, he can give you a good answer...

Dear Alf...
Q: Hey Alf, I was wondering who it is who does all that wacky Oddworld art? Could it be just the "production designer" Farzad Varahramyan (yes! I spelled it right!). Or is it the "game designers?" I don't know, do you?

Alf: Well, you're a good speller, but your info is a little watered down. Over the years Oddworld has employed many talented art-folk. Right now we have a team of three production designers: Raymond Swanland, Silvio Aebischer, and Gautam Babbar. They are all super talented, each in their own right and are slaving away, pencil in hand, right at this very moment to keep the art flowing. Now, the Game Designers are equally as talented, but they do something entirely different! They plan out the logistics of the game, make it fun and functional, and although they may be closet artists, that's not the talent we harvest from their bountiful minds. At least not yet.....

It depends on the question you ask him. Keep it simple and logical.

Cloverfield 09-05-2003 12:39 PM

I find Alf gives more serious answers than he used to. But also it depends on the question. I like how Alf makes it humorous, it makes reading Dear Alf really entertaining. Plus there are some things that he really can't answer. I mean, if someone asks about a future game or something that we don't know that could possibly be in a future game, he isn't exactly going to spill the beans. And really, there are some silly questions in Dear Alf, that you really can only give a comical answer to. ;)

Abe Babe...
