Fuzzle Reproduction
does anyone know anything about this? it's probably something like biological fission or whatever it's called(where an organism splits in half like bacteria do).

well I believe Lorne Lanning said that they were based off bunnies and other animals being tested on.

if there were two per cage then they might be able to team up and break out of the cage. also I don't think they want a possiblilty for a fuzzle to get out of it's cage (say they opened the door and both came out) because they can probalby at least seriously injure an inturn.

this is off topic...but when i was new to oddworld, and i got the good ending for AO....well you know where mulluck gets zapped and his suit comes off? since his legs are hanging inbetween his arms, i thought it was his penis.

I assumed I was correct for so long that it wasn't until I saw some production art of Glukkons on oddworld.com, that I realised that I'd been wrong for so long! Before that, it had really puzzled me when I read on Molluck's stats page that he had no sexual organs. I remember thinking 'but he does!'. I wouldn't call myself a pervert, but I do see references to sex in many places where none was intended. My mind needs washing. |

What's with all the sex topics lately? I'm just content with knowing that the Inhabitants have some way of sustaining the population. I can do with out the all these "methods" of oddworld reproduction. Just stop with the queens. That is far enough.

Concerning the queen debate, my theory is: the "bigger, more sentient, kind of" species share a common reproductive system, because they share a common ancestor, just like in our World, where all the vertebrates are close related and have a male-famale reproduction, 99% of the cases.
So, the fact that Oddworld creatures is ruled by queens makes perfect sense for me. If only three or four species had queens, that would be "unnatural". Probably, the hermaphrodite type of reproduction is an enhancement made by the Vikkers, naturally, or on porpouse, thats the way nature works, creating new solutions to solve the same problem... |
i just dont get the deal with queens, everyone thinks that every species has them i just dont get it. if every species on oddworld had a queeen, thered be a fleech queen, a slurg queen, a slog queen, you get the point. anyway, i think fuzzles can't just split cuz otherwise (someone already mentioned this) there wouldn't be 1 fuzzle per cage and that's why they have the cages so the fuzzles don't make more fuzzles

Of course, if a mammal species had a reproductive system based on huge queen, it would be very "unnatural"because 99% of the mammal have the male-female reproductive system we all know, because all mammals share a common ancestor who happend to have that kind of reproduvtion.
Mammals are a dominat group on Earth, ants are not. Insects have all kind of ways of reproductios, mammals don't. Thinking the same way, if the bigger, sentient animals of Mudos have queens, it is "natural" to think that this is a common reproductive system. If the himenopterae (ants, bees and alike) creatures could evolve to rule the world, hundreds of million years ago, probably fertile queens would be a common kind of reproduction in Earth too.
