Rich stuck up dumbass

I'm a rich ****er with too much money and no brains!

oddguy 08-20-2003 08:42 PM

Ummmmmmmm.....good for you! You aren't one of those stuck up rich people are you? :fuzconf: I hate people who think they're better than everyone else just cus' they have more moolah! :flames:

Oddsville 08-20-2003 08:53 PM

Ok what the hell was the point of this? If your rich than great, but I don't think anyone else cares...

oddguy 08-20-2003 08:56 PM

I don't see a point either. :dodgy: Well, maybe it has potential. How did you aquire such a great sum of wealth, Death?

Xavier 08-20-2003 09:15 PM

Death this is spam... First Warning

Codek 08-20-2003 09:55 PM

NO! Shit! Someones hacked my account!

Damnit! Please don't give me a warning!!

AHHHHHHH! *changes password*

paramiteabe 08-20-2003 09:58 PM

I kind of expected that. That doesn't seem like Death would write something like that. There is a hacker among us and I know because I was hacked a few months ago.

Mac the Janitor 08-20-2003 10:00 PM

I agree...Death wouldn't type that. He's well aware of the rules, and all the topics he create are very discuss...able...(?). But yeah, don't give him a warning, please.

Codek 08-20-2003 10:03 PM

There's a guest that has moderator access, I know that much.

I occasionally see him on the "who's online" accessing moderator controls.

He could be your culprit. It won't help much if I exclaim loudly what I think of him, but obviously it's a bit of a cold hearted thing to do.

And it nearly went completely unnoticed. Had the hacker turned off the "email notification" then I wouldn't have got here so fast.

Majic 08-20-2003 10:15 PM

Theres no guest with mod access. Sometimes, theres a glitch where "whos online" will show several guests that aren't actually on, who have the same ips as the people on. I think of them as ghosts. Sometimes, there'll also be a bunch of ghost guests all viewing the same topic. I've noticed it before, and its nothing bad. A ghost was probably just made when me or some other mod was accessing the control panel.

Codek 08-20-2003 10:21 PM

Well these are interesting ghosts, because they modify their own cp, view picture attatchments, view hidden threads, and perform moderator actions even when there are no mods around.

It's very strange.

Disgruntled Intern 08-20-2003 10:25 PM

Seems that not too long ago, death, you were threatening to compromise the security of the OWF via hacking.

Isn't Karma a bitch?

Majic 08-20-2003 10:25 PM

It is, actually. Sometimes there are guests viewing the employee lounge. Heck, you can't even see it unless you a signed in mod/admin.

I've seen it once or twice when I've logged on. It appears right at the bottom of the list of the forums. I didn't really pay much attention to it though.

And DI, I was thinking the same thing. But please, can you try and remember that I never threatened to compromise the security of the forums, I just said I could. I never said that I would do it maliciously.

Anyway, I've given up on hacking now. I've found using the computer and the net the standard way is much easier and feels more honest.

Although I always keep Sub7 handy just in case of any irritating IRCers. ;)

Disgruntled Intern 08-20-2003 10:31 PM

Okay, I'm no computer whiz kid, but if death was truly hacked, shouldn't the first post's IP differ from all of the other posts in this topic?

Because they don't, really. same host name, and same ip number give or take a number.

Majic 08-20-2003 10:35 PM

I noticed that too. I think the way it works though, is something like it shows his currently logged ip. Or something like, that, I'm no whiz either. Or he could have faked the hacked thing in this case to cover his own ass, because it turned out to be spam:D (joke)

Codek 08-20-2003 10:36 PM

Yeah, there was a spell a few minutes ago when this post was made, when I actually got kicked off of my connection, and everything went all laggy.

It is very possible for a hacker to gain access to my connection and also access the same cookies and whatnot.

I really should switch to another internet provider. AOL isn't great. I only got it for the 7 email addresses you get with it.

Majic 08-20-2003 11:45 PM

*coughs* 4ourth Concept, Reese, and you all have AOL... *coughs*

No offense, please.

Al the Vykker 08-21-2003 01:50 AM

Unfortunately we will not know the hackers IP because when the user posts again in the same topic the IP changes in that topic to the IP of whoever is posting.

The example is as follows:

Thread A: Hacker replies in it at the time before Death actually came back to post here saying it was someone else, it would show the hackers IP. As soon as the real death posted, the real deaths IP replaces the hacker one in this thread.

I know this because once in Fan Corner I was using a laptop at my cousin's house, and when I edited a post that I had originally posted at my own house, the IP for me in the entire thread changed to the new lap top IP. However, all my other threads that I hadnt reposted in, or edited remained with my home IP.

Its kind of late right now, is this making some sort of sense?

Alcar 08-21-2003 04:06 AM

AOL IPs are the same, except for the last 'segment' which is always changing.

About the Who's Online dilemas. Guests cannot do anything that has been mentioned here. When a guest tries to modify their control panel or look at Employee Lounge they are presented with an Error Message. HOWEVER, Who's Online will still present the message of their whereabouts being Employee Lounge.

Mass Guests on at once are usually caused by people with AOL accounts, and websites such as Google that 'crawl' internet sites to index them. Googlebots as they are called, 'crawl' every page they can find, thus the reason so many guests are viewing so many different 'member-only' areas.

There are other reasons, but those are the common ones. vBulletin 3 corrects these errors, by displaying the appropriate Error Messages on Who's Online. Plus more, lovely added Who's Online features.

Was this the same person who hacked PA?

Alcar 08-21-2003 08:46 AM

No, but Death and the Hacker of Death had the same IPs.

Alcar...

paramiteabe 08-21-2003 10:41 AM

If the hacker had the same IP address of Death then couldn't it be the same person who hacked me? What if this person changed his or her address from the time I was hacked to now?

I am no computer whiz but that is suspicious.

Paramiteabe...:fuzblink:

Joshy 08-21-2003 11:06 AM

Maybe the hacker is Death, he accidently prolly hacked himself or something lol...

jking.

Codek 08-21-2003 11:43 AM

Alcar is this possible:

Hacker gets on my account and makes this thread and his IP shows up in the "IP Logged" section.

Hacker gets off quickly while I'm logging back on again.

I come here and post here. The IP of the hacker changes back to mine?

This is pretty much what Al said, but this may be what happened. If not then I'm assuming that vBulletin keeps the IP of the person at the time they posted whatever.

And Reese and "Fourth Concept" whoever that is had AOL too? I would kinda be interested in having his AOL screen name.

Wait...

I think I'm starting to get what you're implying. HEY! In what way am I like Reese? AOL have, what, 2million users in the UK don't they? (At least, I think that's where Reese lives...) Surely you must have at least 10 users here with crappy AOL. And it is crappy. Don't worry I'm getting a different service soon.

paramiteabe 08-21-2003 12:55 PM

AOL sucks mann you need to probabaly get MSN. It is better than AOL. I had AOL two years ago and what happen I had instant messanger on it and then AOL pretty much over loaded my computer. I had to get a bran new computer because of AOL. I find MSN much better and more efficient. You don't get all of that bullshit stuff that AOL trys to sell you on MSN.

Codek 08-21-2003 01:33 PM

Hmm, I use msn messenger and hotmail. So I guess maybe I will use it.

Thanks PA.

Oddfan 08-21-2003 06:29 PM

Yesterday I was on the who's online and it said a guest was making thread and I didn't think guests could do that:fuzconf:

oddguy 08-21-2003 08:11 PM

This is very interesting. A hacker is among us! Seriously, what kind of idiot goes around pretending to be other people so he/she can get them in trouble? But all the fun of getting someone in trouble is being able to watch them get in trouble. Ya know? And why target Death? Do you guys think this hacker isn't just a random person......maybe a member among us. Some people don't like how Death got his OIPT position and moved up so quickly. I saw it on the anger thread. Hmmmmmm?

EDIT: I also noticed how the thread is called "rich stuck-up dumbass". This is a patern of what someone thinks of Death. Death participates in the stealth game and some people asked how expensive it was. Death said it was pretty expensive, but he and his friends don't do it all the time. Why would a random person imply that death was rich?

Codek 08-21-2003 08:23 PM

They are right to a certain extent. I am absolutely loaded. My house is HUGE, and so is the garden. My Uncle gives me lots of money you see, he owns oil pipelines.

It's probably someone I know who doesn't like me.
