To those who finished Munch Od.

For those who got to the end of Munch's Oddysee successfully...

Do any of you guys have any idea who that Green hillbilly Glockstar is at the Gabbiar Auction? He cracks me up.

"I'm goin' all the way.... 2 million 5 thaaousand Mooollaww!"

oddguy 08-14-2003 07:19 PM

I dunno if this is official or not, but we call him Tex! He's hillarious!

Xavier 08-14-2003 07:45 PM

his name is officially Tex, look in the booklet in the voices section

LuLu_Fund 08-15-2003 08:28 PM

Thanx guys.... I would really love to see more of him, great character for comical value.

Sekto Springs 08-15-2003 08:49 PM

yes, he looks just like brewmaster, he's funny

Xavier 08-16-2003 08:14 AM

I'm not saying we will see him but it is still possible cause he is probably still alive...

Oddsville 08-16-2003 08:09 PM

Its quite possible that we will see him again (if not breifly).

Xavier 08-16-2003 08:14 PM

beside... Tex, must be someone important since he is a self-made GlockStar. I wonder of what plant he is the boss

oddguy 08-17-2003 12:02 AM

That would be awesome to see Tex again. Like Xav said, he must be very rich in order to be self made Glockstar. Maybe he's in a whole new bussiness type that we've never even seen before.

LuLu_Fund 08-17-2003 12:53 AM

How fantastic would that be! Considering he was the highest bidder second to LuLu. He looks like the supplier type for the farm/factory though.

oddguy 08-17-2003 01:23 AM

I would like to see Tex play a bigger part in the future, then maybe we'll be able to see what he does exactly. I would also like to see more of Tex's friend and the relationship between them. Are they partners? Is Tex his mentor?

Wil 08-17-2003 08:07 AM

I think it was Abe Babe who thought he was an oil baron, perhaps head of a massive oil-rig/drilling corporation, and I'm inclined to agree. It's the Texan accent that does it, I think.

Xavier 08-17-2003 09:05 AM

yeah the owner of FlubCo and other filling stations maybe
anyway this is pure speculation :D

Hobo 08-17-2003 01:46 PM

I reckon in the next game with munch, he'll want to get the gabbiar back off you.

paramiteabe 08-17-2003 01:53 PM

What about Rupture Farms? Molluck is missing in action am I right? Well if there have been clues of Rupture Farms comming back could Tex be the new owner of Rupture Farms? Thats a possability. Molluck owned Rupture Farms, Soul Storm Brewery and pretty much a lot of the corporations. It was as if Rupture Farms was the center of it all and that other facilities are directly linked to Rupture Farms. Molluck wasn't a Glockstar but I bet he would have become a Glockstar if Abe never stoped him. So maybe Tex decided to open it up again and take over for Molluck and become Glockstar where Molluck dident. Intresting theory none the less because maybe Tex could be starting to create Mudokon Pops in which Molluck had hopes for to regain the success in business but was halted by Abe. So Now Tex would take over start makeing Mudokon Pops and become extremely successful which in turn will turn him into the self made Glockstar. But the oil idea makes sense too. Like before Tex is owner of Rupture Farms he would be a rich Glukkon like Molluck whome ownes a vast Oddworld oil rig and Rupture Farms would bring him over the top into Glockstar. Think of all his colleagues, don't they remind you of the CEO's Molluck had with him in Rupture Farms? I mean as assistant Glukkons for Tex. Just like Tex, Molluck had assistant Glukkon CEO'S too.

That sounds like a good theory, but what i want to know is why did he have such an interest in buying the gabbiar?

LuLu_Fund 08-17-2003 02:14 PM

Maybe Tex wanted THE ONLY EXISTING gabbiar to hatch gabbits, then he'd be the only gluk to own gabbits, and he'll think of many evil purposes for this benefit? Then again, I dunno what his intelligence really stretches to... so on the other hand, he'd be serving it as a garnish next to his bbq hotwings.

paramiteabe 08-17-2003 02:18 PM

Well it was a fish product which can be another clue that he runs Rupture Farms. Maybe he wants to buy the Gabbiar to then later sell it with a Rupture Farms name on it to the highest buyer or Khanzumer and become like this super Glockstar. That would be cool. Rupture Farms might also do Poltry and fish products as well as beef and pork hint the chickens in Steef. I might be on to something here!

But Tex is already a Glockstar.

We only see one of his 'colleagues', and he certainly doesn't remind me of the RuptureFarms Board of Executives. He's not a darkness-lurking malicious sharp-dressed mumbling Big Cheese, he's a...well...an average Glukkon Wanna Be with drab dress sense.

I think Tex wanted to buy the Gabbiar either because he likes it, or because it would boost his profile for a while. Considering he has the business savvy to climb the ranks to Glockstardom, I seriously doubt he's foolish enough to take over the RuptureFarms franchise.

LuLu_Fund 08-17-2003 11:27 PM

I have to agree with Max, it seems to be quite a likely explanation.

oddguy 08-18-2003 12:39 AM

Well, I don't think Tex would go as far to re-hatch gabbits. The only way for gabbits to hatch from that can, is for Munch to fertalize the eggs, so Tex would've had to send a search team to capture Munch. Hmmmmmmm.....that wouldn't be a bad idea for Munch's Exoddus, but I don't think Tex would be the one to carry out such a plan. Tex probably just really liked gabbiar or wanted to boost his popularity.

Sekto Springs 08-18-2003 01:24 AM

Tex i beleive is just comic releif, sure he may appear in future games but i dont beleive he'll play a big role, maybe you'll see him in a market or something but nothing more. But one thing is certain, if he appears in any future games, he'll appear in Steef's Game, the whole western theme and all.

$andy Mudukon 08-18-2003 07:21 AM

we may not see him though as the new game is in a new country or continent unless he may be travvelling or looking for another can of gabbiar but i jus dont think its gonna happen

Leto 08-18-2003 07:23 AM

But what about ME? He might be in that trying to clone one of Munch's iddle bubby kins :p

$andy Mudukon 08-18-2003 07:27 AM

he may have wanted to at the gabbiar or put it up for display or sumthingwell anyway... just a random subject y did abe waste all the spooce when he couldve just controlled the gluk who bidded highest he wasted too much time on lulu:fuzconf:

Leto 08-18-2003 07:30 AM

Because they dont know where he lives :D :D :D !

Wil 08-18-2003 10:13 AM

Because OWI didn't think about that :p

Plus, we don't know that OW4 is set in a new country or continent, it's just a theory. Mudokons appear to play a part in the game, and they're natives of Mudos. I don't see why it can't just be a part of Mudos we haven't seen before, although OWI are the only ones who can tell us with authority.

Xavier 08-18-2003 03:26 PM

since our new hero has a ship, the story can take place on differents continents you know, including Mudos

oddguy 08-18-2003 07:06 PM

That would be very cool! Did you guys see the gameplay prototype of Steef and his ship? *drools* The water effects are superb.........so crisp and clean! I was very impressed and it wasn't entirely finished! It was just a prototype! We're sure to have a great game from OWI!
