Secrets and easter eggs
anyone Remeber the interview where they said they could hide FMV's inside a level of MO? i remeber they said there could be all sorts of secrets but i dont recall any secrets at all. if i read the interview wrong then please clarify what they meant for me (assume im dumb).
i did beat the game with perfect quarma, so dont tell me those are the "secrets". i think the article is the one comparing xbox abe to ps2 abe. |
I suspect that it was the when MO was going to be released on PS2. A bit of a bummer..
|
PS2 version of MO was going to have all sorts of goodies, but we all know OWI didn't have enough time to do that with the move to Xbox. I'm sure we'll be expecting great stuff with Steef and ME!
|
I hope ME will have the original MO story with all the goodies 'n stuff. Steef'll be brilliant!

It was when the level designers/programmers/I forget who found that after creating levels there was plenty of space left to add in extra things, they decided to put in some 'secrets', but wouldn't say what they are, hence we don't know exactly what they're talking about, although some interesting things have been found in the game, in film and in-game. These include:
There's tonnes of little things to notice, though, just do some exploring. What was originally in the game and what the creators added is not known, but it's fun looking about. No hidden movies, though - at least it's highly unlikely. |

Tut tut, Xav, I explained this not long ago, either in the Picture Request Topic or the Q&A Topic, I forget which. Anyway, in the enclosure that most of the Mudokons are kept, get right up close to some of the giant wooden crates and you'll see the sticker on the side of it, telling you what it is. I forget exactly what it says, but it clearly mentions Molluck. Use the 'Check Quarma' button to make it brighter. You'll probably have to wait for the clouds to get out of the way, or rather their shadows.
And I just found this thread while doing a bit of searching on the Forums. Nice coincidence, nice read. Enjoy. |

Hidden in plain view! |
I did mention the Slig marching screen in my list of 'hidden' things. I wouldn't exactly call it a 'video' or 'movie', though. However, I think it would be worthwhile pointing out the level designers never mentioned they had hidden any movies - just 'hidden things'.
|
wasn't there a OWI sign made of plowers in a plain? can't remember...
|
Yeah, somebody did say that there were flowers that formed the OWI symbol in the Village in the Mudokon Pens level, but I never found it. Perhaps they just didn't describe it accurately enough, or made a mistake with the name of the level, or something.
|
I tried searching for the OWI symbol in the flowers as well, to no avail. Like I've said previously, I'd really like to see an Intern ShockRocker.
Besides, I'm sure there has to be something we haven't uncovered. Something kept especially secret. Well, I can dream, can't I? Alcar... |
yes, of cource you can... but I think I explored the whole game and never found something like that...
|
I remember that interview, I think it was on Xbox.com or something. *searches for link* Oh, crap! Microsoft removed it from their site. Damn, I hate that ... makes you wish that you'd save all the articles instead of just the pictures. Oh well.
From what I recall, it was pretty vauge, so maybe it could have just been the little things that Max already mentioned. But you never know, there could be something in there that is REALLY difficult to get to. I think there was an Easter Egg in Halo that was difficult to get to. As for the flowers, I tried to look for those too, but I couldn't make out any OWI symbols at all. The only OWI symbols I remember were on the desks of the Glukkons. Abe Babe... |

Anyways back to oddworld... Max, Im going to play Munch tonight and try and find that Molluck reference. Also I think another easter egg was in the Mudokon fortress level there was a huge bomb that was in a blackened crater. The actual bomb, looks fairly similar to the original unexploded vending bomb, from the original gamplay similulations. |
grrrr. :fuzmad:
They had that article on xbox.com just a week ago and now its gone. |
