Re: Your Favorite Bands/Artists?
:
Other bands I like: Green Day Misfits (Danzig mostly, but I listen to Graves every now and then.) NOFX Dead Kennedys Jello Biafra Rancid The Casualties (Well... they're OK. I just wish they would strive to write original lyrics. Yeah, your "punk," we got it.) The Exploited Sham 69 (Best. Crass. Ever.) The Cramps Bad Religion Nekromantix (Feh...) Guitar Vader The Business Leftover Crack Dropkick Murphys Flogging Molly F-Minus The Voids Toy Dolls A Perfect Orange (Local ska band.) Tenacious D White Stripes System of a Down (Too bad their "new" album was total suck.) And so on, and so forth. |
Ah yes, I forgot Bad Religion and Flogging Molly. Some of their stuff is halfway decent.
Yeah, we have some fantabulous local ska bands here in Arizona. The Dietrichs rock my pants off every single time, and Workshirt Wonder is great as well. The Wiggums were really good, but they recently broke up. Sigh. Hah, I bet nobody knows what I'm talking about...is there anyone else here that lives in Arizona? |
Hi my fav bands/artists are Evanescence, Final Fantasy music!!!, Linkin Park and Michelle Branch!!

Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention Captain Beefheart & his magic band Miles Davis Eric Dolphy Charlie Parker Dick Dale and now a whole list worth your time: Smashing Pumpkins Zwan Man or Astroman? Mr. Bungle Steely Dan Return to Forever Queens of the Stone Age Jane's Addiction Bad Religion Santana(old Santana) the Minutemen Choking Victim(gets tiring after a while) Gorilla Biscuits(same as above) Bad Brainsmost punk bands get tiring after a while for me, but I still go through spells where I listen to a lot of punk) AFI Fugazi Butthole Surfers the Residents Lake Trout King Crimson Tortoise Papa-M that was a long list. Alright, I'll list my rap favorites first:
ABK [anybody killa] ICP [Insane clown posse] Twiztid House of Krazeez Dark Lotus Psychopathic Rydas Blaze ya Dead Homie Beastie boys Brotha Lynch Hung Three-Six Mafia and Vanilla Ice Now for the 'rock': Vehemence Between the buried and me Most Precious Blood Meshuggah Soulfly Sepultura Coal Chamber Society's Finest 311 and Tsunami Bomb. I love my friend's band to death. Halocrine. They're in the process of recording. Keep an ear open for them. Same goes for Mercury Bullet. And I know we'll never make it, but we do have demo tapes floating around all over the US. My band is Dirty Davie and the frowning Aardvarks. |
Lol, nice name.
What do you play? |
I'm actually the sorry excuse for lead vocals.
I've been compared to a cross of glenn danzig, rob zombie, roseanne, and frank sinatra. Our music is weird. Our songs are weird. We're all weird. I'm glad you like the name. It used to be "Demonic Davie and the Holy Rollers". That's when I was experimenting with satanism...and my friends were trying to roll blunts with paper torn from the bible. God, we sure are clever. Oh yeah, I also rap with a few friends every now and then. we've done a couple small shows, and we entered one competition and got second place. We're busting our asses off making better beats, getting decent equipment, and trying to get signed to psychopathic records. It's hard. |
I like:
Korn Linkin Park And nearly all the music from Final Fantasy VII -_- |
My Band ramblings.
The music industry is tough DI. My band (whos core members are myself originally doing drums and now vocals, a quitarist who is REALLY good and a bass player who is REALLY good) has had a tough time being taken seriously. We still are looking for a drummer or a singer so that I can do one or the other. The quitarer and I have written over twenty decent songs and counting. We run the show, all the other members who have played with us have all learned that.
We have done some small shows and stuff, but still haven't gotten around to recording anything except on cassette tapes and a four-track program on a laptop computer. Since we haven't made a demo yet it is very hard to get gigs. And since we don't have a lot of money we don't have great equiptment. Despite all that, we plan on being nationally famous by the time we get out of highschool. We can do it if we try. So if you ever see a CD by the band PSORiASiS, pick it up for your buddy Khanz. You might even like it. We play a wierd mix of classic punk rock, ska, blues and melodic deathmetal. |
:
I swear... he's got a mob connection or is possesed by Jesus... or something. I'll keep an eye out for your band too, Khanz. |
I play bass and would like to have a band, but my drummer and guitarist friends aren't as ambitious as me. So it's kind of like I say "Hey let's do stuff," and they say "That might be alright."
|
rave at me shortlist:
Gorillaz (they're like a cartoon) blink 182 N stink (the dis nsync so bad!) the work of Terry S. Taylor (some very wacky music) Old People with carmel (they're like all broken up and retirement now) i have a band called Bash 66, it's based around rap/pop, it's not that good but hey we managed to get an album recorded. |
Shoot.... here goes.....
Alanis Morissette Prodigy Massive Attack Ben Folds Five Basement Jaxx Tricky Tori Amos Tito Puente Soul Wax Lit Red Hot Chili Peppers Bon Jovi (oh yes!) Coldplay Creed Danny Elfman David Gray Eagle Eye Cherry Norah Jones Foo Fighters Nirvana Destiny's Child Desree Gloria Estefan (oh yes!) Santana Marisa Monte Radiohead Sarah McLachlan Lisa Loeb Queens of the Stone Age PJ Harvey Placebo Natalie Imbruglia Pink Daft Punk Lauren Hill Kula Shaker Jimi Hendrix Bartok Deftones Silverchair Otis Redding Aretha Franklin Byrds Jamiroquai DeBussy Duke Ellington Enya Dolly Parton (yes!) Eurythmics Gomez Jacksons (yes!) Bran Van 3000 REM Finley Quaye Avril Lavigne Talvin Singh FinalFantasy stuff etc... etc..... I can go on forever, but I think I'll stop. Always jam with peeps... music was always eclectic, we never do anything about putting the band together properly! So rusty now with my instruments and vocals... it would take a hell-a-lot of practicing to get back to the way I was! |
I'm depressed that no one else listens to the Pixies. Has anyone else even heard of them? They are one of my favorite bands.
|
sure i've heard of pixies, i read lots of fantasy books and they make a darn good candy stick :D
|
Haven't heard of pixies.... the first thing that went in my head when I read that was Dixie chicks.... which is probably a different thing altogether!
|
Eveanescence kicks ass! I'm listening to it right now.
