Well I guess this poll will be quite one sided, but to add more to this thread, I'm wondering just how much a month you guys are spending on your phone.

Oh yeah, I'm still living in the dark ages.

I had one... then my plan ran out so i didn't bother renewing it... anyways i got msn and can use my frens phone :)

I've never had one, and at the moment I don't need one.

Besides, all my friends reside on the computer. And are always a MSN chat away :D

My God, and there I was thinking I was the only person left in the world to not get a mobly. I've been considering getting one, though, but I'd rather come into possesion of an mp3 player.

Im in the Dark Ages. God, everyone I know seems to want one. My friend got one, he told me too also, I said "Who the f*ck do you have to talk to on a cell phone that you cant talk to on a regular phone? He said he's always so busy. Christ, in 10th grade, how can you be so busy you need a cell phone?

No... I got mine took away after I threatened people on it... :devil: :rant:

I have one and Ive only used it once on a trip. Its nothing really fancy, although I should probably see if I can do anything cool with it, like downloading ring tones etc. The only reason I will probably need it is for some school trips, or getting picked up after a late practice, etc.

I wish I could get a tablet pc though, that way I could surf the web and chat, but also it probably be better than my computer Im using now. :p

But I guess thats why I use my dads computer a lot more.

Yes I have one. I have had it for a year and a half. I very rarely ever ring anyone but I text all the time. It's so damn useful for getting Diablo 2 IP addresses around my group.
I probably spend $20 ever two or three months on it.

I would consider one but right now no because I don't need it. All my friends have cell phones and sometimes it sort of drives me nuts because I will be in the middle of a conversation with them and all of a sudden the phone rings and they spend an hour or so on the phone. Then I feel like the hell with you I am going out! ya know?

Theres nothing wrong with a Cell phone but what really drives me crazy is when they are constantly on it and ignoring you and everyone around them. especially when your trying to have fun but your fun is put on halt because the Cell phone rings. I hate that especially when they are driveing a car and are on their cell phone and not paying one bit of attention. Someone almost hit my car because they were on a cell phone once. Ya know turn your phone off when your driveing thats what I say. Thats one thing I can't stand. I think cell phones are alright but at the same time I believe they are too convienent which can be a serious problem when it comes to cars. You can seriously get someone killed in a car accident just because they are simply talking on their cell phone while driveing. And whats amuseing is now they have those really stupid ear phone things that are so you don't have to hold your hand up to your ear. Can we say Lazy! Its rediculous and funny because at my old job which was at a store, you would get this costomer come in on one of those things and he or she would completely not pay one bit of attention to the cashier or he or she's surroundings. Its really rude for people to do that I believe. And I hate it.

Thats my complaint about them. The only good I see out of them is that if you break down somewhere on the freeway or something or like what Abe Babe said dealing with business and such. But I say turn them off when your driveing and stop useing them like drugs, enjoy life before you die on the phone! Good Grief!

I used to have one, until I left it in the back pocket of my jeans and put them in the washing machine ^^. I didn't use it much anyway. I agree with Paramiteabe's complaint, especially about the "constantly using cellphones" part.

I hate cellphones. They cause deaths everyday. I think anyone who yaps on the cellphone 24/7 is a stupid idiot and deserves to be hung on yonder branch strung up by his bowels. Lol, I heard that somewhere. Anyway, I just wanna shoot people in restaraunts who are too busy on their cellphone to be respectful and quiet down, and the annoying people who nearly swerve off the bridge and give you a fenderbender because their mommy just called them to tell them they need to change her daiper. Lol, so, as you can tell, I live in the Dark Ages. Bluha.

Yeah, I have a Siemens M50. But I only use it to get picked up if school ends a bit early or to send messages to my friends. Not to mention to be called by drunk people at 3:00 AM.

I wish the people in my class never heard about mobile phones, though. They have these modern ones with the weird, high-pitched sound that cuts its way to the center of my brain and then eats it's way out again. They don't seem to give a damn about that I find the noise actually painful. Me so whiny :fuzwink:

I heard a long time ago that Cell Phones can cause cancer. So good thing I am liveing in the dark ages!:eek:

Besides, in New York, it's against the law to drive and talk on a celly or any type of phone. I use my cell phone for emergencies only, like if I get stranded.

cell phones blow. Back in my day, we just yelled really loud. Or went home to talk on our phones. Dam you kids and your " Check it out, my cell phone is so small that I can't see it, listen through it ,or talk in to it!"

I think that was some myth, or a case that someone presented that was found out to be fake. If it was true it would probably be people who are on cells twenty four seven, everyday, in their entire life. Or more likely it was made up by someone who wasnt able to afford a cell phone, and tried to make an excuse why they didnt have one.

What would you do in the instance it was a female who does that Oddling? ;) You shouldnt imply only men use cells 24/7 with the word "his". :p


Anyways I allready stated I only use my cell phone for emergencies, or certain circumstances, such as trips. Or this year if I get out early from a practice, or need a ride home, etc. Although I admit too, there are people who leave them on during class. and it gets quite annoying.

SAme here, I only use my celly for emergencies only or If I need to ask someone something which I forgot to tell them, trips, car broke down, cancellations, etc. I sometimes use it just to talk with friends, unless my phone at home does not work.

Yeah, as for people leaving them on in class, yes it does get annoying. Especially when your taking a test! I mean, have your cellphones off, it's a test! They just do that so they can feel important also, sometimes they talk to people during class. That's a waste.

People die everyday no matter what. Plus, who would want to talk on a celly 24/7? Unless you don't have a life, then you can talk because cellphones are not cheap if you keep talking on it.

My parents forced me to get a cell phone. How about that?

I only use it to tell them when I'm going to be home from work, or to relay a message to them. Stuff like that. I never use it for idle chat... which I can't stand on a regular phone either.

Most of you people sound like you don't have text messaging. You do have that in America, right?

i got a nokia 3210, but its had no credit on it for months so i think it might have stopped working...

Probaby no one even thought about it, or no one just doesn't want it. I don't want it because I beleive it's not necessary because no one's on the computer alot in my house. My friends have text messaging because their parents own businesses and they are on the computer constantly. It's been out.

Yeah, but how about texting to other mobile phones?
