Spoilers

Hello everyone. Do you like spoilers for a game or movie, or would you prefer to not know anything about it? I would not like to know, but sometimes it is hard to resist finding spoilers of my favorite upcoming game, FFX-2.

paramiteabe 07-23-2003 02:58 AM

Yea I am with you I prefer to not know but sometimes I like to know just a few for games I like. For instance Oddworld. You want to know something little bit of the next game but not a lot like MO did. That way when it comes out you are in an ah when you see and play it.

Nah. I never liked spoilers. I like to be suprised.

For instance, with the Matrix Reloaded. I had to wait a couple days to see it, and so I made sure I didn't read or watch any specials or reviews on it, or else I wouldn't have been suprised that it was crap.

See? No spoilers=good.

I liked spoilers, i want to know whats gonna happen before it actually happens... meh i'm an idiot...

I hate spoilers. And my mum and sister told me who was going to be murdered on Coronation St I was so pissed!

Ah, I'm somewhat strung between the two. On the one hand, if I'm really into something, I'll snap up every ounce of information I can, like I did with MO, but I also realise that that can ruin the experience. I decided a while ago to limit how much I spoilt things for myself, but I haven't had an opportunity to put this resolution to the test, yet.

I do, but always regret it afterwards. like with terminator 2. it'd be ten times better if i didn't know Arnie was the good guy.

SeaRex 07-23-2003 01:20 PM

I try not to read spoilers, but sometimes they just pop up out of no where... spoilers have taken the luster out of many a video game/anime.

A spoiler almost ruined Serial Experiments Lain for me, and listening to the director's commentary on the first episode of Boogiepop Phantom revealed something that I should have figured out myself... and would have been one of those "Wow!" breakthroughs in the plot.

I'm proud of myslelf, though... I finished MGS2 without a single spoiler.

I kind of agree with SeaRex on this one. I don't go out to read spoilers but sometimes spoilers just come to me. And quite often, once you read the first line of a spoiler its draws you in like a drug and you have to finish the whole thing. But as long as the spoiler isn't something major, then I can deal with it.

It depends for me, it can change based on the situation. Halo for example. I knew nothing about the story besides being pursued throughout space by the convenant. The twist in the middle was completely unexpected and freaked me out when I first played through it.

For me it can be either way, some things I read about even though I dont really want to, example Star Wars Episode 2, I read the parts of the script several months before it came out, but still really enjoyed the movie.

I guess Ill have to say I avoid most spoilers most of the time though.

GrigtheSlig 07-24-2003 03:18 AM

I like them, but at the same time I hate them! I really want to know what's to unfold, but I want to find out myself. I'm so confused? :fuzconf:

Miss Odd 07-24-2003 03:18 AM

Oh yeah! I always wanna hear spoilers for my favourite games or movies...!

When the Matrix came out I knew like the whole story. But I know I'll love it anyway so hearing about things doesn't affect my view of the movie or game ;)

*grumbles something about FFX-2 spoilers*

I seem to be like Sea Rex ... I just seem to attract spoilers. Actually if it's something that I'm not into I don't really mind so much. But take FFX-2 for instance. I am so looking forward to that game ... and although I love to find out information about gameplay, dress spheres, etc ... I don't want to find out any storyline spoilers. And even though I don't go near anything like a site that is a spoiler ... I just happen to run into them. Like when I was talking to my friend on MSN the other day, he had a major spoiler pic as his icon ... I could have killed him!!! Or someone has something in their banner that is a semi-spoiler over at FFExtreme. Another time I read a post that contained a spoiler, even though the forum had a "no spoilers" policy.

And yeah, I can get pissed off when I see spoilers too. But FFX-2 is like 6 months away. Knowing my lucky, I'll just happen to run into them all by then.

Abe Babe...
