Theories and what ifs.
I decided it was time to start a new thread. things have been a little dull around here lately, and hopefully this will liven things up a bit.
In this thread you can post a theory you have or a what if scenario...whatever you wish. I was thinking...What would happen if a new batch of Labor Eggs hatch, and they're brainwashed into believing Abe is evil. It would be quite easy for Glukkons to pull something like that. But wouldn't that be interesting? Every mud Abe comes across knows him as the savior of their kind. It would be quite strange to see Abe trying to save muds who didn't want to be saved. Glukkons always have some way of trying to make slavery sound more like a job anyway...remember employee of the month? |
What if the gukkons hands were one the moon a million years ago? Would the Mudokkons react the same way as the Glukks?
|
what if the Mudokons stayed the most powerfull race on Oddworld?
|
THEORY:
I have theorized that all odd species developed from a form of cell called microddular. This cell split into two cells the microddular and the micromagogular. |
I think all of us have had an experience when playing AO/AE when Abe happens to die at the exact time of possesing a Slig. I always wondered what happens after that. Does Abe's mind get trapped in the body of a Slig, since he can't go back to his own?
DISSCUSS! |
If Abe dies, he dies. I don't think his mind can survive if his body is dead. At least, I doubt he could at that point.
Now I suppose I have to come up with a theory that justifies posting here...erm...I think Slurgs are going to play a big part in the future of the Quintology. I don't know how, I just think they will. |
What if the next game is cell shaded?
|
If the next game was cell-shaded I would!:fuzmad: :dead:

When I played the game, and Abe died to a posessed Slig (Usually by me shooting him), the Slig just stands there. Now, my sympathy's with the Slig, because you wonder what happens to him AFTER Abe himself is ressurected. I think Abe's SPIRIT stays with the Slig as long as Abe is not Ressurected *(Which he always is).

What if Abe lost sight of his duty to bring balance back to Oddworld and began to be malicious... I have a theory, too. I think the Raisin will become a target of the Industrialists, either because of his wisdom or because of his meat. |
eating the raisin? who would wanna eat a tree?
|
You make it sound like it isn't natural. Why would they need to advertise it as being a tree, anyway? Who, when you think about it, would actually want to eat Mudokons (apart from the boss at Flub Fuels)? I think Khanzumerz and other city folk do have some integrity. Remember Vykkers had to fight to make animal testing legal.
|
:fuzconf:What is the almighty raisen anyway? Where did he come from and does he have a family?:fuzcool:
|
|
Thats cool when I bought MO for my xbox I thought that he was an expirament gone wrong from Vykkers labs. He sort of came out of nowhere and he wasnt in previous games so that might of made more sense. :fuzcool:
|
No, OWI messed up a bit by not introducing him. It was only by following all the previews and things for a couple of years that I expected him to be there at all. Still, gotta love the way we switch from Munch's story to Abe's involvement.

Because Abe and Munch don't know to go back to Vykkers Labs. Evidently, the Raisin has told Abe only that he needs to find Munch. It isn't explained very well, I know, which is a shame, because that CGI is really beautiful quality. When I see those Egg Crates, I can actually believe they're made of polystyrene.
But it's not very nice, I feel, dwelling on Munch's Oddysee. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I've seen how unhappy Lorne is with it, and so I kind of forgive him. Darn it, I'm too nice. |
I do imagine that the Vykkers would want the raisin for something. Maybe they'd test their latest expresso on him; I mean he's so tired all the time.
|
Yesterday, while I was possesing a Flying Slig, he came over and threw a bomb at me, luckily I posessed him right before he did that, so I was still moving as the Slig! I moved to the next screen and it froze!!! But I heard these wierd noises, like people walking around really loud and shutting doors! I don't get it! :fuzconf:

Lets say there's three sligs all running around while abe is trying to possess. (Possession like in AO/AE.) Does the one he finally get have a weaker mind than the others? Whaddya guys think? Oh, and I think in the next games that possession orbs should be able to pick up spooce along the way to their victim! |
Really? Most people here would rather possession orbs and SpooceShrubs were replaced altogether. I'm not sure about the weakness thing, though. At the end of Bonewerkz, you possess Phleg before the two Sligs about him, which would seem to suggest the opposite.
I'm not very good at theories and whatifs, am I? Oh well. |
You're doing just fine Max! I'm just happy to see people reply!
I was wondering the same thing about Phleg and the sligs. Abe probably does possess the more inteligent ones. Did I just use the word inteligent when talking about a gluk? It doesn't happen often! |
what if it was the other way around if gluks were good and muds were bad?
|
Characters that die when you de-posess them: I reckon that if Abe dies when he has posessed a Slig, that they die because their brains no longer function. Because they're going to explode when Abe de-posesses them, its probable that they are already dead and Abe just uses the body.
(It could of course just be a surge of energy that kills them...) Animals that dont die when you de-posess them: I think if Abe dies when posessing one of these Scrab Paramite etc. that they go braindead, you know, like a vegetable. Because we see that when you deposess them, they are fine, so do NOT die when you posess them, and once Abe leaves them unnaturaly, their brains do not function correctly. Okay...I know I've got some of that wrong, but I'm typing quick in case my comp. crashes again, I'd probably be able to explain better another time... Its probably a stupid idea but its kinda complicated so its looks good at a distance... |
The original plan for Munch's Oddysee was that you could depossess all characters either safely or violently, depending on how much pressure you placed on the depossess button. So I think it's safe to assume Abe can depossess all creatures without harming them.
