this is prob a lame idead, but how about we have a monthly award forum with awards sutch as:
best banner?
best poster/adviser?
best thread?
forum member of the month?

So what do you guys think about it?

Yes, the First Annual Oddworld Forums Poster Awards sure were cool. But I think once a month is far too much. It makes it less special.
Perhaps every half year? I really can't wait for the next one.

Yeh ok every 6 months. I am at school right now so I cant be long. how about we have poeople that apply for the award, and a MOD posts a poll and members vote fro the winner, sound good to you?

I think we should wait once a year for Wolfpacs annual Oddworld forums poster awards. Once a month would be overkill.

Think of how much an employee of the year award can be a lot more special than an employee of the week, or month (those are still special :p ).

I rather have it, good things come to those who wait. In saying that, I mean waiting for the second annual poster awards.:fuzsmile:

I only thought of this idea because i thought the forums didnt have awards, well now I do, and looking at the last one, I will wait...I just hope it comes back soon.

Funny. I was actually just thinking about the 2nd Annual Forums Posters Awards. I know the first one was at the beginning of this year, but doesn't it make more sense to have them at the end of the year?

Anyways, Wolfpac, if you are going to do it again, I'm willing to help you plan it if you want. You should do it in the Oddworld Interactive Poll Team (OIPT) forum since it is basically an interactive poll.

Just wondering, but isn't the OIPT like poles about the oddworld things? It seems more of an OT type thing, maybe even something like an announcment so everyone sees it.

You are all drifting from a really good idea, to talk about some lame poster competition. HELLO??? Really good idea spike, monthly awards for our members.

Just think how many people would start to behave just to win those awards? Of course, these awards would have to be exclusive to just the users, no mods allowed, because the admins favour the mods and that would be unfair.

We should definately have this though, stuff like "top poster" or "nicest bloke" awards would really keep everyone high spirited about being here.

No one would change their behaviour.... people would've know their behaviour by how they act already longterm.

Mods should be able to enter to i think, the admin will act fairly and equally.... unless you bribe them with pepsi...

The first Annual Oddworld Forums Poster Awards worked out exceptionally well, with a great turnout. MOnthly awards would probably be a bit too small scale, I mean, the OWF doesn't have the largest span of people to give out multiple awards each month.

Steef isn't coming out for a while, meaning we'd have to stick around mainly with who hangs around right now. BY then, many people would have already won awards, but the people who haven't would then sort of be overcast by newcomers. Plus, if someone whos already won a Monthly award then eventually gets picked for something in the Annual Poster Awards, its not going to seem as special, as it should be.

Monthly IS overkill. I missed most of the last poster awards... Sigh. Always next time!

Why not leave it as it is and have Wolfpac do the next one when a year is up. Unless he doesn't want to do it, and then he could elect someone. But I'm sure he'd want to be the leader of such a large thing :)

If Wolfpac keeps up the annual tradition, it'll be one year after the first one started. There's a link to the results of the first one in this thread, I'm sure you could spare a minute or two having a little explore.

Yeah, it's confusing isn't it. I never refer to users on forums as "posters" unless I have made it completely obvious.
