Happy 4th of July!

Well I want to wish everyone a happy 4th of July even those who don't live here in America.

Happy 4th of July anyway!

Mann I love Fire works especially when they fire them off in big cities. When that happens it so much louder because you have them echo off the buildings. But whats fun is when you get your own fire works. I love Bottle Rockets, Timber Wolfs, Sparkilers, Roman Candals, Devels Jack in The Box need I say more. There are all kinds and usually the best place I think here in America to shoot off Fireworks down in Mertle Beach or South Carolina. I tell ya its Begdad when it happens. Whats funny though in my state Fire Works are ilegal but nobody cares and we pretty much lie say we are takeing these over to Pennsylvania or South Carolina. There like ok and then everywhere in neighborhoods people are shooting them everywhere and the cops don't give a shit. Sometimes why they even have that stupid law when no official uses that law.

Omg, i forgot its 4 of july..... now that schools over and holidays coming... i will never be able to play a trick until next year.... noooooooooooo!!!

Facsimile 07-04-2003 10:37 AM

Hoorah!

That's right. I celebrate 4th July. Purely because it's 6 days until my birthday but it's better than nothing.

What is 4th July about anyway?

paramiteabe 07-04-2003 04:25 PM

Pretty much when our nation became independant, or our nation's birthday. Wow I can't believe people don't know that the 4th of July is our nation's birthday! You learn that type of stuff in Kindagarden or Preschool! Don't worry your not the only one who doesn't know. I see it every year on the news and they go around asking people what the 4th of July is about. Its like nobody knows and they forgot the true purpose. Its sad really but its the reality of the situation among us Americans unfortunately.

Nath 07-04-2003 04:48 PM

It's not Facsimiles fault he doesn't know what the 4th of July is about, He isn't from America. I'm from the U.K and I didn't know what Indpendance day was until the film came out.

paramiteabe 07-05-2003 01:50 AM

Well that makes sense! But it is true there are a lot of Americans who don't know what its about. Thats whats unfortunate.

Correction: No.

Haha, me and my friend got in trouble for shooting off illegal fireworks yesterday. We put a cherry bomb in a thing of ice cream and then threw it in the air. Boom. Now the whole backfield smells like coffee.

happy independence day! i set my rope swing on fire with firecrackers, smoke bombs, sparklers, tanks, snakes, poppers, and cherrybombs!

*and my GFs pants on fire but not because of bombs, hehe:devil:*

MrBoj 07-05-2003 05:55 PM

My friends and I have bottle rockets and Roman Candle......but here in Brooklyn there are police helicopters patroling the sky for anyone shooting off fireworks on rooftops. Eh, there was one around my neighborhood, and its attentionw as fixed on my local park where everyone goes to shoot off the fireworks they get from Virginia and North Carolina. hehe. IT was fun.

PLus, I had a good view of the Macy's Fire works Spectacular form my roof. Boats shoot off millions of rockets form the East River every year. FUN FUN FUN!

oddling 07-05-2003 06:24 PM

I remember one year went to North Carolina for the fourth of july. We set off big bottle rockets on the beach because it was legal as long as you shot them into the water. there was this big stupid crab that walked on top of one and started poking at the fuse and was on it when it blew up. BAM! No more crab.

Sekto Springs 07-06-2003 11:17 AM

a more efficient way to cook crab...heh, my cat caught a baby rabbit, it was about to die and was suffering my mom told me to take it out and put it out of it's misery, i made a little bed of fireworks, him on top, and then a firecracker belt over him like a blanket and lit the fuse......hey earl we're havin rabbit tonight..

MrBoj 07-06-2003 11:42 AM

.....wow. That's terrible. :fuzconf:

Sekto Springs 07-06-2003 12:58 PM

i love doin that, i once found an injured baby chipmunk on the sidewalk leading to my house, i dropped a rock on it and only his head stuck out, when i saw that big blood bubble come out of his mouth, i cracked up:fuzvamp:

Facsimile 07-07-2003 03:40 AM

Has the term cruelity to animals ever rang in your councious.

All I know is if any animal rights activists had heard of what you did, there would be hell to pay. Seriously.

...and on a side note, not everyone is going to know what the fourth of July means here in U.S. Plus, when we say its the day we gained our independance, freedom, etc. some might view it as us being non patriotic, traitors, all guilty for a hanging.

Its best to keep the holiday to ourselves, and not try to enforce it anyone who is not american.

Anyways, an example would you want jewish people celebrating christmas.

No one is enforcing the 4th of July, being Independence Day on anyone. There are obviously Americans here who have the option of celebrating July 4th as Independence Day. If any British people are offended by the 4th of July, sorry guys, but don't take everything so seriously! The Revolutionary War was a long time ago.

The 4th of July isn't about bashing or "enforcing" anything on anyone! I'm sure every country has some sort of Independence Day to celebrate. Canada has July 1st, Mexico May 5th (right?) and others.

And for the love of god, leave the squirrels and chipmunks alone! I don't think droping a rock on a dying chipmunk is "putting it out of its misery". um......you do realize the message of animal rights Lorne and company is trying to get across with Oddworld, right? :fuzzle: hehe, know what I mean?

Sekto Springs 07-09-2003 09:15 PM

my mom is an animal activest, but i was young...anyway, does it matter, that chipmunck was;

A. crawling toward the road, libel to get squshed anyway

B. was lipming/crawling/crying in agony, i did him a favor!

anyway...if you think i'm ****ed up, look at my school district

paramiteabe 07-09-2003 10:02 PM

Well I guess I can say when I was 10 there was a big Bull Frog on my driveway. It was after a rain storm I cought it and then just started to torture the frog by throwing it high into the air and watching it hit the concrete. Then by takeing a cinder block and crushing the hurt frog to get it out of its suffering with its head sticking out from the block. Its tounge was hanging out and its eyes were bulging. Yea when I was little I did crazy things with little animals like frogs. Ants like frying them with Magnifying glasses, or takeing Daddy Long legs and ripping off its legs. Yea I did some pretty sick things to little animals when I was 10. But who wouldn't at that age ya know?

My brother has a potato gun and we always thought it would be funny to load it with a Chickmunk tied to a potato with a fire work on it and shoot it 100s of yards into the air explodeing. I don't know about you but the thought of that is sick granted but what can I say it is true comdy you have to admit that!

Nope.

Al the Vykker 07-10-2003 01:49 AM

Oh and to add, Im not british either, and Im not from england, etc.

Im an american, and I live in the United States. My family has also been here since before the revolutionary times. I just am saying that back then what we did was viewed upon as treason. I highly doubt anyone really feels that way anymore. I mean it was over two hundred years ago.

Even though we dont force people to celebrate our independance day, or to acknowlege it, I think the same should go for other days like that.

I dont think any of us should have to acknowledge lets say mexicos independance day. It should be kept strictly in the country that celebrates it or the people who live there, or who it affects or has affected.

MrBoj 07-11-2003 12:10 AM

ok. so let's eat and be merry and not worry about trivial worries about what is appropriate for what country. HUZZAH!
