Open up Spoiler Section?
 

Guys, why don't ya open the Spoiler Section again? I mean, we have lots of things to speculate to, and I thought the SS is the place to do it, no? So I think it should be re-opened again.

Anyone with me?

We will most likely when Oddworld 4 is released to the public. The reason, is because the Spoiler Forum is for spoilers pertaining to the most recent game.

Because OW4 hasn't been released, no spoilers can exist :)

But don't fret, we'll not forget to open the forum when the next game is released ;)

Yeh, but I have seen a few threads about the new oddworld game. why dont you open up the spoiler forum and move the thread?

Even though we have topics/info on the game. Nothing of this material is actually "Spoiler" content yet. Also the only information on OW4 we have is all out of date, those concepts still could have changed since they were from the past september, but released to the public last week.

The spoiler forum was used originally only for information on MO after it was released. So people who were unable to have the game yet, or hadnt gotten it yet, would not have the game ruined for them by reading something that was a spoiler to the actual final version of the game. Or people who did could discuss things like: levels, characters, enemies, gameplay, endings, what they liked, etc.

But even so we do have a name and we do have official screen shots. Granted they are a year old but they could very well still be in the game. some of those images look to be completed CG work like that forest scene. These images are official wether it is a year old or not. It is our first bit of official information from OWI on StO none the less. But what I am saying is we have a whole slu of images that were created by OWI and are official. That to me at least counts as a spoiler before the game. And I recall when I joined here way back in Novemeber 2001 before the release date of Munch the Spoiler section was open and there was a lot of topics on Munch. It was never closed back then thats what I remember at least. I am with you AlphaScrab, but I don't make the decisions here so it probabaly won't happen.

I don't think there's anything released that could spoil the game any more than an ordinary preview or even review does, except possibly the bit about Steef being in disguise. Alf said we'd not hear anything new for a few months, so perhaps in that amount of time we should open up the Spoiler Section.

What? A year old? That can't be, I haven't been on there in far less than a year.

My mindset is exactly what Sydney's and Abe Babe's were when the Spoiler Forum was first created. The idea was, that when the game had been released anything that could give away plot, secrets, etc (in other words, spoilers) would be placed in their.

However, information leading up to the release was posted in General Discussion. I think the wisest idea would be to:

• Mass move all threads/posts from the Spoiler Forum to General Discussion
• Re-open the Spoiler Forum for Oddworld 4 information

That list of course, would happen when Oddworld 4 is released.

StO means Steef's Oddessy. The St stands for Steef and O is for Oddessy. Its just my abreviation for the game thats all. Anyway I heard that all the things we saw on the Discovery channel was a year old right or am I mistaking that?

No you are correct PA. The new stuff we received from the DC program was from last september. Alf informed myself and majic who were on oddchat at the time. Also on the official site it states the designs are old, and that they would not comment further on where the game has progressed since that initial rough gameplay, concepts, etc.

Also that we would not receive any new information for the rest pf the summer.

Hmm what if we can sort of make a temperary Steef discussion board and only specifically for Steef discussion only, seemingly we have a lot already, until the realease of the game, then get rid of it and open the Spoiler again? Just like another sub Forum. That could work what do you think? And I know that we have enough boards already but this would be only temperary, it won't last.

There would be no point, as it pertains to Oddworld. Thus, General Discussion.

I prefer that we keep all the latest Oddworld4 discussion in the General Discussion form right now. I wouldn't like to have to go all the way to a sub form just to hear the latest on Steef, lets just keep it in GD.
