Fourth Concept 06-22-2003 06:10 PM

Welcome to the Fourth Concept.

Good evening users.

I am the Fourth Concept. Here is a datacard for all those who wish to know more.

Age: Unspec.
Sex: Male.
Location: Unspec.
Gaming Interests: Freelancer, Diablo II classic & LoD, Warcraft III and I am an ex-Starcraft elite.
Knowlege: Wide, but primarily focused on Science, Engineering, Quantum Physics, Computing, Hacking & Fashion.
Hobbies: Most of the above, with the exception of Engineering and Quantum Physics, which I do not and cannot execute in my "Garden Shed" as it were.

Now that you know all that you need to about me, this discussion can begin with my side.

Here is my opinion: Your forum is a happytown; its general purpose seeks to enforce positive opinion, or only allow the expression of it. Negative opinions are shunned here.
Your very posting here is governed by a "don't like it, don't do it" attitude that confuses me a great deal. If a user logs on to your forum, insiting it change, I would suggest (***Suggestion***) that you politely remind him/her that the way it is currently has kept it going so far, rather than publicly shaming them for expressing their opinion, whether light heartedly or not.

A freind on the phone likened it to this example: "You can talk about how great something is there; but hey, if you've got something important to say, you just keep it to yourself son."

Just to give myself some defense, I am not actually suggesting you change anything other than attitude here. And more importantly I am not telling you to change anything. What I am doing however, is highlighting a problem that I might find "impedes" on my enjoyment and free expression of opinion, whether negative or positive now and/or later.

Also, another defensive, (and a side note) I would just like to add that I raised this topic because I feel that this is genuinely a problem here. (IE This particular fault/complaint/observation occurs in the majority of topics.)

I hope this contributes as a valid discussion here, I would hate for my first topic to "go wrong" per sè.

Regards, 4ourth Concept.

I'm presuming you know Reese...

Age: Unspec.
You're a fool...

:

Wide, but primarily focused on Science, Engineering, Quantum Physics, Computing, Hacking & Fashion.
All revolve around Geekiness and then you say Fashion. How intriguing. What part of Fashion do you do? And is it good? I am considering doing Fashion this year...

You're a fool...
If that's genuinely true, I would by now have done something stupid, as this is what fools do. So far, I do not consider my actions "Stupid", so please cease and desist, its not funny.

Supirisingly, it doesn't take a geek to be into Quantum Physics, Hacking, Computing etc. And I do not consider myself a geek. I am actually a Drum & Bass producer and DJ. I love the scene I work in, and therefore love to live it. I consider doing all these things as living in the inspiration for my somewhat futuristic production style.

To answer your question, I design t-shirts, jeans, sweaters and jewelry for the world of extreme sports. I find the whole thing an interesting creative outlet, using practicality for image to achieve art. I would recommend it to anyone who are young and open minded. (The homework can be very boring though, and its not always that you get to do what you want, but thats life.)

But you still haven't responded to what I wrote in my first post.

4ourth Concept.

Edit: Noted a vB Script error which I corrected.

Dia duit, a chara.

I just read your signature. I SUGEST you change it...

"I feel a sensual disturbance in the force" is not StarTrek (may it be killed). It's Zap from Futurama, a DECENT programme.

I would rather you not correct my speeling as it takes a long time.

Do chara,

Yes, I do know this, but I ran out of ideas for my Trekky one-liners so I decided to use something that was similar. In fact, its more similar to Star Wars.

As far as spelling goes, your not Jacob, so I wouldn't worry about me correcting you. However I will point out that you spelt spelling wrong. "Speeling", a fitting error for such a comment don't you think? Almost deliberate...

You're connected to the Furry in someway...which gives me great suspicion over your joiningness...

Presumtion...Assumtion...they both end in the same way...

:

If that's genuinely true, I would by now have done something stupid, as this is what fools do.
Ok, fine...you're strange. Why would you not give your age...i don't mind you not giving it, but then putting on a profile thing stating "unspec" its abit strange...

:

Supirisingly, it doesn't take a geek to be into Quantum Physics, Hacking, Computing etc. And I do not consider myself a geek.
I never called you a Geek...i said the subjects in question all revolve around Geekiness. Please quote me were i stated "You're a Geek". But, as i recall, to be into hacking you need to study it alot...which leaves no time for a social life...hence why most Hackers are pale...unless you mean you were like me when i was "into" it...cos i merely tried to hack a friends password and then after that decided i couldn't be bothered...

:

I am actually a Drum & Bass producer and DJ.
Oh...and?

(The homework can be very boring though, and its not always that you get to do what you want, but thats life.)
Such as...?

hey! wtch who you say that to you flamer! you will pay for this with a unexplanitory PM about AIDS and HIVS'S!
I am truly, deeply sorry. Allow me to express my regretfulness of such remarks with a raised middle finger...

I didn't want to get in an arguement with you by the by...i was just stating such statements were foolish...especially in a forum heaviny with 4 year olds...

By the by, how do you know of Reese?

By the by, how do you know of Reese?

I fail to see why you insist on getting so overworked on nothing. Your obviously very worked up about this Reese person however so I will try to answer your questions.

The reason I have not specified my age is...
Well there is no reason, I just didn't think it was really relevant, but I wanted to cover that area in case people asked. When it comes to text only, its not age that matters, its personality.

When I say I KNOW OF Reese, I do not mean I personally know him, or contact him, or knew him before I came here. But what I mean is, I know that he is a person and that he exists and that he has posted here. It doesn't take the world champion Cluedo expert to figure that out.

As for your comments about hackers and geeks etc. I am well aware that the scene isn't exactly commandiered by the worlds most eligable cool dudes, but it still doesn't mean that I can't have a good hand in it just because I might be considered "cool". I like the rush of hacking, plus I find that the things I can do using well known hacking techniques allow me to use the internet more how I want to rather than how companies want me to.

None of this means I have no life, it just means that I spend my freetime at home when I have nothing else to do, doing things that give me a rush. This means I can have a good time whether in or out. "Save something up for a rainy day" as they say.

And whats a "furry"?

Sorry, but I just have to ask you what this is about, and whether it is even relevant to anything anyone ever said, ever, in the history of the whole universe. And you called me a fool!

The purpose of this whole topic was to procure opinions on the matter that this forum, like many others, is opressing negative opinions as though they are illegal. Not that I have a problem with your negative opinions, its just your expressing them in the wrong place.

Please try and stay on topic, rather than ruining my first ever topic with your garbage hunch that I might be some asshole you are hung up on. (Reese.)

Thankyou

Disclaimer:

4ourth Concept was mostly having fun in this post.

EDIT: I have just noticed that the quote about HIV aids etc. was of someone else, I apologise for any weird confusion.

Jacob 06-22-2003 11:07 PM

I'm not hung up on Reese, you just seemed like the sort of person to know him. Due to the way he left and shtuffs...

I'm watching Graham Norton now...so i am abit distracted. But i never said that you didn't have a life...i was just saying that hacking took alot of time...

Not a garbage hunch, my dear. A hunch based on facts such as statements and dancing Koala's...yes...

A Furry is a person who believes they have an animal Soul...and act like animals...erm...and dress like them every so often...

That definately does NOT sound like me. I knew someone like that once, they acted like a cat because they were absolutely obsessed with CATS the musical. Weird person, needless to say I didn't really stay in contact with this person for more than a day!

Tell me more about Reese though, he sounds... Interesting.

Shut up.

Disgruntled Intern 06-23-2003 12:55 AM

Listen here, mr.Concept;

I don't care if it made you mad when I closed your topic. I closed it because it turned into nothing more than personal conversation between you and jacob.

I don't feel like reading something that could easily be carried out through private messages. Not only that, we now have a 'newcomers' section where you can post your introductory message. You seem smart enough, [I mean, you figured out the 'report this post' button pretty quick, right?] yet you still post in the wrong section.

Sure, maybe it was a mistake. Sure, I'm a jerk. But guess what? I reserve the right to be a jerk. You know why? Because my mom is president of the lucky charms cereal company and so help me god, I will send Lucky, and a few other cereal mascotts your way.

Fear trix the rabbit, you simpleton.

I reopened your topic because I love you. Marry me.

intern is a girl.

Disgruntled Intern 06-23-2003 01:03 AM

If I truly were gay, I'd probably be offended by your little attempt at mocking my sexuality.

Luckily, I'm just an extremely sarcastic heterosexual.

Yay!!!!!!!!! you're not gay!

Fourth Concept 06-23-2003 01:36 AM

Thank god this thread is reopened.

I would ask what I have done to deserve all this, except decide that this place looks good so I will post here, and that the staff here seem freindly and nice so I can rely on them, and that it all seems well run except for the critical error I wished to discuss here.

I am now completely put off from being here. What reason do I have now to return except to defend my name from this bungling moderator? All I wanted to do was make a disscussion. If you got a problem with that, keep it to yourself and go kick a tree, but don't YOU go and make a mistake, then have to undo your pathetic actions, and THEN call me a simplton.

How very professional, way to lose a member in record time.

I haven't the slightest idea why I'm replying to this thread. So instead, I'm going to lighten up the mood, by doing a little dance called...the chicken dance. *does just that* Right. Don't we all feel better now? See what, simple, idiotic things, can do for you. Now, about this Fourth Concept guy. Let me just convey to you, a sort of symphathetic remorse. It's a shame you were, so quickly bashed at. The true nature of the forums, isn't all that bad. Infact, it's quite un-natural, hence, it is Odd. So a word of advice, ignore, and move on. Just...step away from the computer...and go about your life...go on now...go on...it's okay...

Facsimile 06-23-2003 03:32 AM

Hmm... Let me get out my Detective Starter Kit....

:

Diablo II classic & LoD
Reese liked D2.

:

Here is my opinion
Reese had opinions.

:

And more importantly I am not telling you to change anything.
Reese told the mods what to do in his first thread. That didn't go down too well.

:

I hope this contributes as a valid discussion here, I would hate for my first topic to "go wrong" per sè.
Reese's first topic went wrong.
Per s(e with little thingie).

:

I do not know "Reese",
Can you ever really know yourself?
Ooh, that was deep.

:

I am actually a Drum & Bass producer and DJ.
Reese did something with music.

:

have fun and don't spam.
:

Thankyou.
Too late.

:

You're connected to the Furry in someway...which gives me great suspicion over your joiningness...
Jacob smells it too.

:

He deeply scarred us.

:

I'm watching Graham Norton now...
Hoorah! Oh how I used to love the doggie phone.

:

That definately does NOT sound like me. I knew someone like that once, they acted like a cat because they were absolutely obsessed with CATS the musical.
Ah yes... the Cats people. There is a couple on here you know. They went berserk at me once.

:

Tell me more about Reese though, he sounds... Interesting.
Oh he's about your height, same colour hair... and eyes. And he dresses exactly the same.

:

Shut up.
Whilst reading throught this thread, when I came up on this post you should have seen my eyes light up.
DI makes all posts interesting.

:

You seem smart enough, [I mean, you figured out the 'report this post' button pretty quick, right?] yet you still post in the wrong section.
Yes. Reese had a lot of intellegence about forums. But even with this he still made many double posts.
Similarities again, no?

:

If you got a problem with that, keep it to yourself and go kick a tree,
Wasn't the intention of this thread about stopping supression?

Near the end now.

:

How very professional, way to lose a member in record time.
Here we go, the same babyish way that Reese always buggered off when things got a little tough.

And finally, drumroll please, the most convincing reason I have in a quote by Reese:
:

One day I will return as a different person, and you will never know who I am...
There you have it folks, another mystery solved.
He really could have waited a bit longer and lay low for a while though don't you think?

*Theme music fades as Fax walks off*

Since this thread has so many long post.. i haven't even bothered reading it... so are you guys saying his Reese? Well it could easily be found out by asking the admins to check his ip...

The most important msg i'm trying to get accross is how come all the noobs are creating so much chaos... and is there a sudden trend for new members to come here? or is there a secret organisation spreading our domain name in hope to fill our forum with useless spammers causing this forum to fall from its grace and then take over with his evil hell memphits, then slowly morphing our brain into thinking that the apocapyse is coming and for all of us to commit mass suicide....

*well its some of my thoughts* ^^

Alcar 06-23-2003 08:44 AM

We welcome suggestions, the forum; Forum Suggestions & Help was created for that exact reason.

The reason we shun threads with negative connations is because we hope to provide an optimistic forums.

If you really want to post such threads, then I'd urge members to join a forum that'll allow it. Where an open minded community, but we don't want it to be destroyed by teenagers high on angst.

Heh... just kidding... about the "queer" part.

Anyway, back to the original message. This forum is a "happy town." What would you expect with all of the younger members here? Because of this there will always be a... let's say "fanboy," for every topic to shun negative opinions. It's unavoidable on this kind of forum.

And so I continue to be a negative optimist. :D

Careful there, you're bordering on sexist.
If you don't like gays, fine that's your opinion which has the same relevance as anyone else's, but that doesn't mean you can asert it as proper.

I was about to recommend the same thing, if people are so sure of him being Reese, etc. then it wont hurt to go ask the admin to check. Its better than throwing out random assumptions, even if there are many similarities.

Fourth Concept 06-23-2003 04:25 PM

I do not look like Reese, I do not use the same internet connection as Reese, I do not have the same IP as Reese, I do not have the same email address as Reese, so therefore I am not Reese.

I come here and start a topic and I get attacked for it. What a way to treat a newcomer! Jeez leweez! *cough*watchthebloodpressure*cough*.

This Reese person OBVIOUSLY really got up your nose. GOOD! You deserve it for being such bastards. I hope Reese comes back all the time just to piss you off and make your time here bad! (But he will probably just make your time here funny by the sounds of things...)

Now I am off to a different forum, one where I am actually treated like a person rather than some kind of source-of-all-corruption-crime-and-despondance-in-the-world type person. God you so suspicious, its like you have seen my picture in a wanted poster but your not sure that its me...

Strange, strange people...

Peace out.

Hehe...funny:D OKay wells...bye bye Fourth Concept, sorry you feel that way. Guess first impressions is a big deal...
