Who has Munch's Oddysee
 

Who on this forum actually has Munch's Oddysee. And if you do, do you think it is a good game? I live in the USA so I recieved it for Christmas with an Xbox (DUH). I think it is a good game, a little short, the only thing I really don't like is how they had to cut out so much because it had to be released with the Xbox.

I also got it for X-Mas. Overall I think it's a stunning game, though I play Oddworld games (like most other games) for the plot, visuals, and FMV which are all fantastic.

My only two~three gripes are this:
-Apparently it's supposed to be "frustration free gaming" but the camera f**ks me up a lot.
-Killing Sligs is frustrating and tedious sometimes.
-Which brings me to my final overall gripe, the "loosness" of the game.

I'll explain "loosness". In the past games there was usually a concise way(s) to do this and that to get yourself from point A to B. But in Munch I feel like I have a general goal for each level and THEN it's just mad rushing chaos.

In the past you blow up a slig and he's dead, but now when I drop a bomb on him thinking the coast is clear there he is in an obscure detection-collision-problem area firing away at me and killing me after running around the area like a chicken with its head cut off.

Like I said before, I play Oddworld to get from one FMV to the next (criticise me if you will) and because of my gripes it feels like a heart-wrenching process to get from one end to the next, unlike Abe's games where I actually enjoyed the play a lot more.

NOT TO SAY I DON'T ENJOY MUNCH. I LOVE IT!

I actually typed up a lengthy review under the topic, "My thoughts on MO." Of course, that topic died a horridly embarassing death like ALL my other topics...

sadly *cries* i don't have MO or te xbox but oh well i'll live..............no i won't i need munch ok i'm calm............ yes!

If I did have MO it wouldnt be much fun since all I could do is look at it, my family is poor.

I've got Munch's Oddysee and...I love it!

The people who do have MO are dead lucky- I live in the UK and I'll have to wait... But when it is here I wont get it cos I'll have to buy a X-box too!! :mad:

I got MO for xmas, along with Halo (which i just beat today)Madden 2002, and Dead Or Alive 3. I took MO back and got Tony Hawk2x instead because i absolutely did not like MO

I Got Munch on Dec. 8, it is awesome! I also have Halo, DOA3, PGR, and Max Payne,
Out of all the games Munch, for some reason, was more fun then all the others, for me at least. The others were also cool. :D :D

I am almost done with MO, it was pretty good, if you r a newbie 2 oddworld i dont recamend buying it butif you LOVE oddworld u hav to by it

MO is the only game i got for Xbox

No, because:

1. I live in England.

2. I can't afford it.

3. I don't buy consoles, partly because of reason 2, and partly because I don't really play computer games much...

I have an Xbox and Munch (which was my only reason for buying a Xbox) I think its a great game, with so much that had to be cut from the game, I think it suffered a bit. I still look at the movies on Oddworld.com, and hope that some of those features make it in to the next game. Plus the next game will be made directly for the Xbox, so I'm really looking forward to it!!!

Tomahawkers! but dislike how you make them though.. :(
FMV! main reason for playing just to see next FMV like Eibu!
Abe! again!!!

I'm a GameDeveloper, and CG Artist myself so I really can see all the work that went into the game!!! Excellent overall!!!

i rented it and loved it .. even though i beat it with the angelic quarma im still gonna buy it cause its that damn good

what cut features are these

most levels were cut out and there were first gonna be shaows that big bros could se u in there was alot mor

I have Munch and an XBOX. I got it on the day it was released, and beat Munch a week and a half later, with Angelic quarma. I estimate that it took a total of 21 hours for me to beat it though. :)

Before i had munch, i had no clue of oddworld and anything.... now im inspired to go and do anything in my power to find a used (theres still that slim chance i can find a new) copy AO or AE..... i guess that means i liked it. my bro and i got my x-box at the beginning of thanksgiving break, i beat it in a little over a week....... also have halo, got my bro doa 3 for christmas.... the only thing i really dont like about munch is even when you know the stuff and its easy, replaying it just is still so tedious. now i have angelic ending, i dont really feel like goin for the black one..... to long.... Now i still wanna find a copy of AO or AE..... wait ive already said that... now ive just been playin halo, cool game actually...

Yeah, I'm a halo-addict! The only thing better then "accidently" throwing a plasma grenade on your bud while playing co-op is "accidently" backing up over him in the jeep while he's trying to get in the back :D

i have Munch and love it...it's all and all a pretty good game.
i have the 'problems' with it that most people do..the shortness, repetetivness, and so on.....TMOTH, i too am a Halo addict..have you been introduced to the Flood yet?

i wudd go back and get da black endin, but it is just to annoyin, i hate donatin to da lulu fund levels, theres so many...im probably gonna try eventally, otherwise id go thru life without noin wat it is and that wud make me mad :mad:

And it ain't hard to go back to the begining once you've finished the game before.....is it?

yeh I think Munch is too short, too much got cut, And its too tedious to go back through..to get the bad ending. You really have to go out of your way killing Modukons to get the bad ending. But Halo is just right, replay is nice too..they should put actually secrets in Munch... :(
