OWF unofficial newsticker!
 

Hi everybody!

From this point on, my position is now unofficially changed from OWF Fan Game Expert to OWF Newsticker...

I will scan the forums for you, and put all the good stuff I see on the newsticker in my signiture! News about Oddworld websites, personal ads, hot topics in the forum, the latest games and news on the Oddworld series, and much much more!

Of course, I can't do this without your input people, so tell me what you think! Do you want a personal ad in my ticker? Do you like the idea of a "forum news service" where everybody can place a comment or ad? What other things would you like to see on the ticker? I wanna know!

strange idea, but why not...
but don't forget you may only have 6 lines of text in your signature

My ticker only takes up 1 line of text, and your only allowed 6 lines of text visable all at once. The ticker has way more than six lines of script & text, but only displays one long line of text in the forum.
Look at it this way, it takes less time to load than a gif, jpeg or bmp!

Cool, the banner looks really nice. I'm not sure how useful this will be to the masses, but it can help a small few.

Yea that is a sweet idea I like your banner by the way. Well it can be a neat way to provide us with information maybe regarding future games and such when we do get something that is. I ment in the favor of small clues and such of OW4 that we already have. Yea its a great idea.

You can get scripts such as this from visiting websites with such banners, and viewing the source code. I have personally made the script for this myself, including the .class file it uses as a codebase.
I made this code as a commission for www.Aliens.com, for my freind Charles Huber (who happens to be a very good web designer).

You can make the LEDs any colour you want, have it scroll as fast or slow as you want, and have the background any colour you want, even give it a border colour! For those of you that want to make and host your own LED newstickers on your websites, might I suggest Riada Cartel, a good program for newbies to Java script.

Would it be okay to use the same news ticker code on my site (non-oddworld)? Because I'm useless when it comes to coding stuff.
