the raisin

um....well....what exactly is the raisin....exactly

paramiteabe 05-24-2003 06:50 PM

The Raison is something that is known on Oddworld as an Elderling. Its mainly a real ancient being that was at one point in his life a tree. There is some rumers of other Elderlings that exist in different parts of Oddworld. The Raisin might not be the only Elderling out there, there can be more. But its only a rumer. And welcome to the forums! Stay Odd!:D

go here:

and for those kinds of little questions go to the "Oddworld Questions and Answers" topic... thank you

Gargoyle 05-24-2003 06:54 PM

sorry,i will:D it would be funny to see the raisin and another elderling have a snore contest:lol:

Sekto Springs 05-24-2003 09:26 PM

yes, the raisin is an elderling, there is a rumor of another elderling...but not like the raisin himself, as OWI says "the raisin is an enigma" so he really is the only raisin elderling, others havent been revealed yet, thats one more thing that we must cross our fingers on, i hope we'll see one in OW4:fuzwink:

Oddsville 05-25-2003 12:36 PM

Now my turn to answer the question!:fuzwink:

The Rasin we all know and love is part of the Elderling species. At the begining stage of his life the Rasin spent his first and second stage as an Elder Tree. After 6000 years of this he finally transformed to his third stage which is that what we see today, the Elderling. Reminants of his past life can still be seen on his body today. Stubbles of his past roots, bark like skin, and other features are just some of the traits that links him to his past. Back when the Rasin spent his years as an Elder Tree he had the privledge to see all of Oddworlds creatures during their best and worst times. He's seen wars, hunts, religous cerimonies and much more. Its because of this that he knows so much. Our Elderling that we all know is currently 14,400 years old, know one know's how old they can get however except, prehaps, the Elderlings themselves.

Sekto Springs 05-25-2003 12:47 PM

wow that was quite poetic oddsville, yes the raisins old, he controls ratz...theyre his eyes and ears around oddworld and the monitor everything for him since now he cant and doesnt really move, but does anyone know how the mudokons became associated with the raisin:fuzconf: or was he always there and we just never got to see him in AO and AE?

Oddsville 05-25-2003 12:55 PM

The Mudokons became associated with the Rasin many years ago, back when Oddworld was mainly tribes. Leaders of differen't and various tribes would come to him for guidence on how or when to plant they're crops, or if they should go to war, etc.

Sekto Springs 05-25-2003 01:34 PM

there was so little talk of him before MO, i read something around the time AE was new that said something like "many creatures of oddworld havent been revealed, great tribe leaders and elderlings of oddworld are ancient species but new to this gaming world" or somethin'.... it was on the old version of the site:fuzconf:

Xavier 05-25-2003 01:48 PM

can you find it back?
sorry but I don't remember that... :fuzconf:

Sekto Springs 05-25-2003 01:55 PM

i cant find it back unless sumone saved the whole site the way it was back then..it was on the official site right on the front homepage....im sure sumone the saved the old site, but it wasnt me...cant help ya, sorry:fuzsad:

Sekto Springs 05-25-2003 04:15 PM

Gargoyle 05-26-2003 06:31 PM

cool.mabey in OW4 abe n' munch find there way into the heart of the cartels (or just magog) and its run by an evil elderling...then the raisin and him have a snore contest

paramiteabe 05-27-2003 02:49 AM

I don't really think an Ederling would be evil. Infact I don't think anything on Oddworld is evil. I just think everything are very confused and messed up beings. But yes it would be funny to see 2 Elderlings have a snore contest. If all of them act similar to that of the Raison that is.:D

allready the end of the big story? that is a little bit too quick...
there are a lot more games to come you know

Sekto Springs 05-27-2003 07:01 PM

i agree with xav, due ta the odd's popularity, i think we will be challengin magog for awhile to come now, and there are no evil creatures on oddworld, its just a battle between industry and wilderness, we are considered industrial ourselves, that is unless any of yu are loin cloth wearin tree huggers who live in wigwams
