Favourite Gluk

ok, heres the point, you put down or vote who your fav gluk is

mine obvoiusly has got to be Dripik

KintoKid 05-07-2003 09:22 PM

Mullock the Glukkon from AO because he is the one who came up with the plan that made Abe escape. With out the idea of Mudokon Pops, Abe probably wouldn't have left RuptureFarms. Plus, he's a well-thought out and terrifying villain. I hope OI brings him back into a future game (which I believe they will since they don't declare him dead).

paramiteabe 05-08-2003 12:14 AM

Same here I am a Molluck fan. I also like Vice President Aslyk, Director Phleg and General Dripik

Alcar 05-08-2003 03:44 AM

Molluck is my favourite, as most of you would know by now :) Like I said in the FOM, he is basically very relaxed and overly cool.

I can't wait to see him return!

Alcar...

Oddipus 05-08-2003 06:28 AM

VP Aslik (it's my xbox live gamertag)

I love the name :D !

Reese Charles 05-08-2003 11:20 AM

You will see molluck return! He is in my game: Oddworld: Mollucks Revenge. Also, Rupture Farms wasn't destroyed was it? Just shut down or something, the boilers were turned off. Now if I am right here (which I might not be because I haven't played AO in ages), if the boiler was only shut down, it could be fired up again. Although I understand that firing up boilers takes quite a bit of work...

Anyway, we all know that Molluck is definately NOT dead, as you don't use him and kill him in the factory, and he doesn't get killed in the end FMV (I think) he just gets electricuted...

I may be wrong, Rupture Farms might have suffered a boiler explosion and Molluck may have been fried to a crisp by electricity. But I still like him. He is past the status of Glockstar, he is more like a sort of what every young glukkon aspires to becoming.

The Red Muse 05-08-2003 11:45 AM

Meh! I like Dripik! He's so cool, he always forgets his name... yeah... he's cool.
...or no...wait... Maybe I like Molluck too... he knows how to chill.
And he's cool.

Wow.
Cool...
Wow...

Reese Charles 05-08-2003 12:17 PM

Dripik is the original school of hard nocks isn't he? Probably one too many bullets to the head is what causes him to constantly forget his name. Although, there is nothing quite like an exccentric General!

Xavier 05-08-2003 02:59 PM

I like Molluck the best, simply because he is the one who always win, except against Abe

Reese Charles 05-08-2003 03:02 PM

Molluck has all the things a good business man needs: A cool calm and collected attitude, and a plan to fall back on if things go wrong.

Hobo 05-08-2003 03:04 PM

Molluk, because he's life's winners. ( And he makes cool products)

Reese Charles 05-08-2003 03:07 PM

In my game he makes really cool gemstones... I must remember to do a few design drawings of one.

Reese

Sekto Springs 05-09-2003 12:16 AM

i'de have to say lulu, his design is an enigma to other gluks and even though he's a lazy, dumb, lowlife, i think he's cool. dont ask me why:fuzconf:

Reese Charles 05-09-2003 03:22 AM

Hmm, maybe you think he is cool because he went to glockstar without doing any work? I think thats pretty cool...

As far as we know, Rupture Farms was simply shut down/power turned off. Molluck is alive, we know that for sure!

Apparently, a return trip was planned for MO to Rupture Farms. But never made it.

Reese Charles 05-09-2003 04:57 AM

So rupture farms could be started up again! All it needs is new ownership and sligs...

Hmm, also a train to Rupture Farms, as you get to see the door for the Rupture Farms terminal in that FeeCo Depot.

Reese

PS: does anyone know if that FeeCo Depot is the only one? I assume there are more, but I don't think it says anywhere...

Reptile 05-12-2003 07:06 PM

Reese

EXACTLY! That's what I thought, too!

My favorite Glukkon has to be Director Phleg. Lorne Lanning makes him sound like some voice by Dan Castellaneta (The voice of Homer Simpson and countless other Simpson characters).

I mean, you can hear it!

paramiteabe 05-13-2003 02:22 AM

Could you imagine returning to RuptureFarms only to find that the entire place even the complex sorrounding like the Stockyards is now this old abandon factory being slowly renevated.

Just imagine going there seeing the rotten meat, the dark abandon hallways, everything covered in dust and cobwebs.

The live stock like the paramites and scrabs are all nesting in the stockyards. and old rotting corpses of sligs lieing in different places. An abandon old rusty factory where only the janitor is there to keep a eye on the old place. And imagine there is only one light on in the whole plant. The janitor Mudokin scrub would be like beware this place is hunted.

Because he knows maybe Molluck has become a very crazy and derange Glukkon liveing in the dark old dirty halls of RuptureFarms. Hideing from the outside world. Woundering RuptureFarms as an elusive crazy Glukkon that belongs in an insane Asylum. Spooky. Have you ever seen The People Under The Stairs? Well imagine that in the dark halls of RuptureFarms and Moluuck is the monster or freak. Thats pretty scary but cool. I like to think that if Molluck were to come back he would be this freak or real crazy psyco Glukkon. Scary!

THAT is a very good idea! I could easily mod the game so that it works like that, so could OWI. I think someone needs to get in touch with Lorne, he needs to know about this...

I can imagine meat saws, rusty ones dangling from the cieling in the background, all damaged and lifeless. And the barrels. all rotten and broken. Pipes, tubes and gantries hanging, dangling and broken. Yeah, thats a good solid idea.

Reese

Sekto Springs 05-13-2003 07:53 PM

according to alf on OWI's site abe would never let rupture farms reopen...but you gotta wonder, while abe's out focusing on his problems, the gluks are probly reopening it, praps even owning it and abe cant stop that, i meen he cant be in 2 places at once

Reese Charles 05-13-2003 08:03 PM

Well, as I said before, the Magog Cartel still owns the site and the land etc.
Its just a matter of hiring more staff to get the boilers fired up again.
However that isn't as easy as it sounds. Firing up boilers after they have been put out often takes months of hard work and manual labor. As you have to remove all the ash and burned fuel residue from the bottom of the furnace, so that you can make a new bed of sand and fuel.
Once its lit and going nicely however, the boiler runs on its own.
And therefore only requires more fuel, and the occational maintenance.

Although unlikely, the Magog might decide to place a new and young glukkon hopeful in there to try and get the place going again, but its more likely that they will sell the metal from the factory, and sell the land to other companies.

Lets hope OWI do hold on to this idea, perhaps as a sort of mini-game thing...

What, like that game people in primary school play. What's the time Mr wolf? While Abe is off doing something else, they continue returning rupturefarms to it's normal state, and when Abe stops, they freeze?

Edit: no, that's not it. it's another game, isn't it?

paramiteabe 05-14-2003 11:28 AM

There is an old steel mill that is near me in Cleveland called LTV Steel. Now that place remindes me so much of RuptureFarms. Its enormous. Anyway the place went bankrupt but then opened up again for a few months but then just reciently closed its doors again.

Now since RuptureFarms was closed by Abe. Maybe they went bankrupt but then reopened by a Glukkon pud who wants to become a wanna be or a Big Cheese who is finding it real difficult to keep the light burning in the place in an economy that is being depleated. In other words he goes and creates cheap stuff like that stuff we saw in the RuptureFarms meat market on the official site. But is finding it extremely tedious to create that. Sort of like he is taking the scraps and making a product out of it. Like a Gerage Sale.

If thats the case then RuptureFarms has become an old, weak company who is struggleing to survive in the world of growth of the Magog Cartel. And I remember a while back there was a discussion talking about this sort of Oddworld Great Depression that is happening in the Magog Cartel. Businesses are slowly being bankrupt and the Chroniclers are going nuts all over the place. Oh the horror! So crazy that their heads explode hehe! I bet when we see Chroniclers they will be in these huge stock exchange places with Glukkons fighting to stay alive business wise. But who is to say when they loose big they are delt with in the most professional manner Oddworld styal hehe!

Interesting concept I have to say and I bet Lorne is thinking of these things as well.

Reese Charles 05-20-2003 06:33 PM

I think your missing the point here. The Rupture Farms industry wont ever go out, people will always need to eat. The Rupture Farms that Abe escapes from is the 1029th.
But it was the largest, the rest are just big stockyards and small grinders, and packagers.

But this is all off topic, I think we should give this a rest and talk about it in other threads...

Abe the legend 05-23-2003 08:40 PM

Okay, here are my top 3 gluks.

1.Molluck(he's so evil:fuzvamp: !)
2.Lulu(he's so dumb:confused: !)
3.Brewmaster(he's so...french accented?)

:fuzconf:

Zach Roy Wilson 07-17-2003 11:57 AM

Molluck definetly. He is so evil and cool. Let's also not forget that he brought an entire species to it's knees and then in corperate bellies. Well, actually he did that with alot of species. I can't wait to see him return. Maybe he might be in Steef's Oddysee. Who knows.

Sekto Springs 07-17-2003 12:33 PM

Molluck rocks the house, i did a fanfic on his peculiar life, how he was born and raised in nolybab 56A and started out working as a poor pud at a Flubco gas station...good story

Hey, that sounds an a lot like my old fan fic the fallen temple. ;)

Anyways my favorite glukkon would have to be VP Aslik. I just feel he had a lot of personality to him, and a lot of character. I wish he would not have died either. It would have been cool to find out more about him later in the oddworld series.

I too like molluck, and of course believe he will return along with rupture farms...eventually.

Also, steef's oddysee is not the official title of the next game. For now, it is known as OW4.

oddguy 07-17-2003 10:27 PM

I think Molluk is everybody's top pic...In second place I would have to say Phleg! He cracks me up! His mouth is so huge and his head is so widdle, and he only thinks about himself! "Hey I gotta career to consider! What are we gonna do about it?! Huh, What?!"
