Hmmm, looks like I beat all of the encycopedias, dictionaries and other associated knowledge bases today. ;)

He's called a Chronicler. They are basically the accountants, lawyers and stockbrokers of Oddworld. Not much is known about them as yet, other than that they inhabit the larger cities in Oddworld and that they are an industrial based species.

I'm sure one of our resident experts can tell you more than I can.

Abe Babe...

Thanks abe Babe!

paramiteabe 04-23-2003 10:34 AM

Yea we will see them appear in later games we hope. Though I am not certain on this but were they suppose to be in MO to begin with but were too taken out? Hmm I will ask Alf about it.

Well I think I can squeeze maybe some sort of an answer out of him if I ask it right. I notice guestions that are asked so far by some people tend to be just silly and the same ones over and over again and thats why I think Alf would answer the questions the way he does. I have already sent Alf three questions in the last few months and he answered them each to how I expected them to be answered. They were serious answers to them These questions were never the same old stuff we get. They were original. So I don't know Ill still give it try heh!:D

Xavier 04-23-2003 06:32 PM

well when you got the anwser please post it here, it interest me :fuzwink:

Seargentbig 04-25-2003 10:23 AM

I think the best way to get a serious awnser from alf is to keep it straight(Yes, i know it's spelt wrong), short and to the point.

paramiteabe 04-25-2003 11:48 AM

Well yea keep it straight forward and original. Don't ask questions like "Why is MO on the X-Box?, Or who is Squeek?, or Can you tell me about the next game?".

All of those questions are like the same old same old type thing Alf gets. If you ask a question nobody ever asked before, it will be original and he will give you a serious answer and not a silly one. Just make sure the question is straight forward. Now its not for certain that he will know all the answers to our deep questions but what can you do ya know?

Somestimes he doesn't know the answer and all you can do is say ok. The thing you don't want to do is annoy Alf with the same questions, he doesn't know the answers to all of them so he tells us how it is simply.

Repeating questions to Alf is a big no no I think.

well once I asked something about the oddworld time (like how long is an oddworld hour compared to an earth hour) and stuff like that and he simply replied he could not give me any info, I don't remember the reason

Adder 04-26-2003 11:09 AM

I'd say it's more than likely a pic from the development stage of the game and never got used.
But that's just me.

Xavier 04-26-2003 11:21 AM

sorry adder but this was absolutly pointless :fuzzle:

Alf is an indespensible link to the people at OI. The Alf team regularly interact with the OI team, so they can get information about things like this.

By the way, Alf only put silly answers on the page with the posted emails to demonstrate the sort of questions that deserve a similar answers, and as a sort of FAQ page to check out before you send you questions.

I don't personally think it has occured to most people that there are cities of gluks and chroniclers and other creatures that act as consumers for the magog products. The mudokons are seen as quaint natives and workers. With the release of OW4 will probably come more information about these cities.

Well, thats my cut for now...

Oddsville 05-05-2003 11:25 AM

As far as I know, when we finally get to the "Big City" we will not only see all the Chroniclers doing what they naturally do (theifs, bankers, accountants, lawyers, etc.) and all the other Industrialists but Industrialized Muds. No, Im not talking about the Slave kind, there are (or where) plans to have greedy and moolah loving Muds living their everyday lives in the "Big City".
