As you can guess what the topic is about...post away your poems of sorrow and loss...maybe we will have a competition who can write the best ones......c'mon...i'm just trying to make a good topic!!! :( :( :( :(

Heh, what's with this sudden interest in poems? I start an oddworld poems thread, then there was a dark poem thread, then a romantic poem thread etc. etc. and another now another one. Heh.. This thread would be better called the 'Elegies' thread.

Anyway, haven't written anything in a while so might as well add something to this thread. Not quite an elegy but similar I guess.

The battlefield,
Gunfire, sirens, screams,
You Wake up to find a comrade dead,
The wounded take their last breaths,
The innocent gunned down without remorse,
Men sinning for all they're worth,
Bombs dropping like rain,
Bullets piercing flesh,
All feelings, emotions buried in a mound of corpses,
Your conscience clouded by smoke,
You wait in line,
At Death's reception.
