What would you most like to see in the up and coming Quintology?
I've been wondering what most people would like to see in the Quintology, i was mostly looking forward to the Slig toss and such like in MO but i have heard it has been cut out...i would like to see stuff like that in ME. What other stuff would you like to see in the Quintology, like Mud children, Slig larvae, etc etc"
Because i was in when Lorne was in 1 time...and i saw him ask that...and i was thinking the whole Forum could help them by saying what they would like to see. :) |
'd like to see Mud Children! Lol
|
Hmmm....I'd like to see Sam......A baby slig.....A SLIG MASKLESS! A Baby glukk! etc. :D
|
I want to see
Mud childs Slig larvaes but I prefer new creatures and new vehicles! |
I would like to see some worthy sequels to the great AO...
|
I would like to see a world as real as our own in complexity and life... And I would like to see all the charictors in the games, So new charictors are only ever added- Never taken. :)
|
i would like to see no more lame human promotions
|
I would like to see:
a slig as a main charachter slig and mudokon queens more of the slig barracks Lorne, I hope your listening! |
i would like to see:
some queens the heroes of the quintology(duh) more new and excting creatures |
Well, for starters, I'd like to see a contract stating that Sligs will definitely never be heroes. Ever.
Ever. Obviously, I'd like to see more creatures, characters, environments, factories, buildings, facilities, vehicles, architecture, culture, products and all the other fun we already see on Oddworld. But what I really yearn to see is a Glukkon theme park...not just for the hell of it, I just want to see if OWI can invent totally Oddworldian rollercoats and rides. And also plants - what devious and wonderful floral species inhabit Oddworld, other than green balls called SpooceShrubs and Earth-plants? Schools - deadly Slig Slaughter Schools full to the brim with tiny Sligs carrying weapons of addictive destruction; multi-coloured, erroded Vykkers Acadamies with toxic chemicals eating at the walls and half-disected biology pets scarpering freely under the young Vykkers' feet; Glukkons sitting around a conference table learning about economics, careers, politics and business-cheats; Mudokons having to walk miles to one school like the rural Africans do*; schools of Gabbits (yes, pun intended). *sorry, I just think it's Mudokon-esque. Anyway, I've opened up a bit of myself for Oddworld to peer around in and steal from. |
wild sligs or something else as wierd as that mabey having a game where you destroy the slig queen.
|
some realy wild life, very destructing with a lot of tooths... grrrrrrr !
|
I want a game set far in the future of Oddworld, where the Glukkons have drained the world and it is dying. You play as an unlikely hero, a young mudoken who has a great destiny (sound familiar). you must attempt to gather all of the mudokens left on Oddworld to perform a great ritual to summon Abe, the long dead Godling, and greatest hero of the mudoken race, to reclaim the remnants of Oddworld, and save a dying future.
|
hey Max what ya got against sligs being heros?
Zig: Ya! *grumbles from his tree* uh..Zig..how the heck did you get a tree in here? Zig: um..*shrugs* no idea... *sigh* anywho...I would like to see a slig hero in a future game. That and everything they cut out of MO. Other then that...(and wondering if OWI would 'adopt' my Drakkic race...hey a dragon can dream can't she?) I can't think of anything... |
I think that keeping Sligs as bad guys constantly would be a bit too black-and-white for oddworld, although it has been worryingly black-and-white before, so it's a possibility...
|
It would be cool to have a Slig main character, simply because of the aforementioned "Sligs are bad" stereotype. Perhaps one in every litter (hatching?) of Sligs was good, and was usually killed by the Glukkon overlords to prevent them from accumulating and rebelling. What if one such Slig survived, and one night, put down his/her/its gun and let the mudokens under its watch free? The Glukkons would surely want him/her/it dead, and the mudokens would be wary to accept him/her/it(Do sligs evem have sexes?), so it would have to find a way to survive untill it gained the mudokens trust.
That could be cool! And he/she/it might even eventually become a segment of the mighty Shrykull! Hey, its possible. or do i just have an overactive imagination and too much time on my hands? |
The reason that sligs are kinda nasty is because they were badly mistreated as children by the glukkons/Skillya. It follows that the more strong-willed of them will be nicer, and will oppose their Masters simply out of stubborness...

Hmmmm... I would really like to see the daily lives of an Oddworld Inhabitant. Where you can go around watch Oddworld TV, or listen to Oddworldian radio. Just a game where you have tons and tons of different choices and activitys to do. Some other stuff I would like to see are just... I don't know... more characters living their lives normally as you play. I would love to wander around at night look at the stars and distant moons of Oddworld, listen to the crackle of the campfire and just relax.

um.........an odworld game were ya chose a char spies and do what eva the heack ya want!
|
I don't know, Oddsville. That might make the game from the "gotta collect things to do stuff" abomination I keep hearing it is now, to an Oddworld version of The Sims.
|
Yeah, but it wouldnt be an actual Quintology game, not having anything to do with the story at large, just a game in which you delve into the everyday lives of Oddworld's inhabitants to gain a better understanding of what motivates them. you could play one part as a native mud, one part as a mud slave, one part as a Glukkon, and one part as a slig, to delve deeper into the psyches of the different groups.

Hmm, look for that in the upcoming (I hope) Habitales series...(after Hand of Odd)
I want to see at least one RPG type game set in Oddworld. Not like FF (I just can't picture that) but like Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and Project Ego (I know neither of them are out, but I still think that that is the best type of RPG there is). Something where you can devolope a character into whatever you want, and choose many paths throughout the game. I mean, in MO you played the same characters throughout the game, , they never advanced in power. And besides choosing how to tackle various challenges, you couldn't make many choices during the game. Also I'd like to see more Oddness, as in MO there was way too much human-things, such as computers, dart boards, and chalkboards. I know we have to identify with Oddworld characters, but giving them human traits is easier than giving them human possesions. [ December 02, 2001: Message edited by: FuzzyFuzzle ] |
Scott, Hand of Odd is the first part of the Habitales, isn't it?
|
I understand what you mean SeaRex but what I was saying was besides doing what Odd is just the begining said (which is what I also ment)was you would also be able to accomplish tasks and goals like in Munchs Oddysee but if you didn't want to do it right away you could take you time and do all that stuff in between.

hmm rpg shrykull as a spell also possesion.
|
Hmmm... I suppose that would be a good idea, Oddsville. Of course, such an idea is (hopefully) going to be accomplished by OWI.
But first, they need to make ME absolutely drop-dead amazing, then they can work on Habbitales. Man, they are gonna some busy ppl! |
