Good guys or bad guys?

Hello everyone. When you are playing games or watching movies or TV, do you tend to side with the good guys or the bad guys. I find that I always like the good guys. I do not know why, I just like the heroes of stories and always like to see them win and everything come through for them. But I know some people who are different and like bad guys.

Edit. Ooops, I was going to make this a poll for you to vote in, but I forgot the option. I don't know if a mod can add a poll. If not, it will just have to stay this way.

I prefer bad guys. The good guys are usually idiots who have to strong a sense of justice and always let the evil people live. They always have the political power and the technology, yet don't do anything cool.

Meanwhile the evil people have worthwhile causes (wealth gain, world domination, destruction of those who annoy them) and atually EXECUTE what they want. They don't let punks walk all over them...

Though though "Good Guys" who turn "Bad" rule. Traitors 0\/\/|\| 411.

I like the bad guys for much the same reasons as Majic.
Although unlike him I like bads gone good. As long as they still have a bit of bad in them and would stab the goods in the back as soon as blink. Like Knuckles from Sonic.

I prefer to side with the good guys who actually are the bad guys.... like in wild things hehehe.... mostly thrillers and mystery tend to have good guys which are bad.

Depends

Yo! I'm back for a while... Man I've been busier than a janitor on oyster day.

Anyway, it depends on the kind of good guy. If it's a good guy like Spike Spiegal, then I'd stick with the good guys. If it's a good guy like superman...

Anyway, I'll be around.

I am like Canned Gabbiar. I am sort of for both sides but ususally what fascinates me is the bad side.

They are ususally the ones with all the unique interesting technology. To me the bad guys of movies and games start off with the upper hand on things. They seem to be really advance cultures compared to the good guys.

In all cases the good guys are alweys the underdogs. A good example of this is Star Wars. You have the highly technological advanced Empire with the Death Star vs the clunky old technology of the Rebelleon. But its that primative teachnology which wins over the highly advanced culture. That is a sceem in which artist and movie makers use to make the myth in story writeing and film making be more, how should I put it, interesting to look at and sort of give the ingredient to something cool. In other words the Magic of film makeing and stories.

Depends on the bad guy. But almost always the bad guy, like someone stated above they are all righteous and such like and that annoys the Hell out of me. I wanna see a film were the bad guys win...

Hobo 04-02-2003 03:21 PM

I like the bad guys because it's more interesting to see how they plan to destroy/ corrupt the world or turn people's brains into mashed potato than it is to see a couple of underdogs throw a spanner in the works.

The bad guys.

I agree with Majic_Abes post.

As cliche as I'm sure this sounds... the bad guys.

I just get so sick of seeing "good morals" prevail all the time. This kind of stuff almost never happens in real life, so why should it happen on TV? It always just seems so... lame. Good guys always win through cheap shots. I would love to see a "bad guy" win every once in a while.

Video games are a different story, though. Although I generally admire the "evil" character, I'll always be going for mine. Unless the "good guy" motives are totally fecking stupid, I'll be hoping for the good guys to pull off a win. Generally because... well, because I'm playing as the character, you know?

Cloverfield 04-03-2003 05:17 AM

I usually like good guys. I just can't get into the whole atttitude, take over the world thing of bad guys.

With one exception. Sephiroth from FFVII. Now that's a bad guy! The greatest bad guy of all time IMO, and the only bad guy I've ever been a fan of.

Oh, and I've kind of renewed my fanaticisim for Sephiroth because he's in Kingdom Hearts and he looks awesome! Makes ya want him to kick Sora's ass. Well he does anyway. :D

Abe Babe...

Baddies

I like Wario. He is an evil B****ard but he is great!
But my real fave is Arthas(evil) from Warcraft 3. You can play as him!   :flames: :fuzvamp:

bad guys. They got more style. But i like the even better the guys that are in between good and bad...sort of like the good/bad guys, take boba fett for example.

MasterChief 04-05-2003 05:49 AM

so ferill u like mercenaries eh. i like them too. It depends who the good guys and the bad guys r. but usually i like the good guys just because the bad guys r usually SO dumb it just makes me mad. like in Starwars, seriously, there is no possible way they empire should have lost to the rebels of the republic. thats usually why i like the good guys, but every movie and game is different for me

I can agree with that Mercs. are far more interesting, because they're always doing something, plot related or not. Unlike Good Guys who spend half their time at the beggining talking to their families and the bad guys are planning stuff. During this thime Merc. are usually fighting something.

In General the Good Guys. Why? Because most times they portray the Goodie in such a way that you have no choice but to fall in love with them (so to speak). Take Superman for Example. He has all of these super powers that we all dream of and his alter ego is someone who we can relate to in some way. But Lex Luther is this Rich Bastard who only cares about himself. Now who do you think I'm going to follow?

But there are exceptions to this rule though. And for me it is wrestling. Let's have a look at The Rock. When he was a face he was an annoying character who just sucked up to the fans. But now that he's a heal I find him really funny and entertaining. So really it depends in what context it's used in, so I'm sort of both.
