Need a bit of help in the Paramonian Temple.
Hello all....First timer here, so please bear with me if I don't get this correct. But I am in need of some help. I am playing Oddysee and am stuck in the paramonian temple. The first time one encounters multiple doors. I have to light 6 flintlocks in order to move on. I have gone through every door with slight diffuculty but find myself stuck in the chamber directly above the information hand. When you enter you are standing on a ledge. You jump down to the left and run into the next room where there are 2 sligs waiting on you. You run back into the first room, jump on the ledge, then mind control the slig. You go back into the second room, shoot the other slig then destroy the possesed one. Abe's back in himself, he runs through that room and jumps a small chasm at the end of it, over which is hanging a rock bag. When you enter the next room, there is a killer bat and 3 swinging spike balls and some fireflys. When you chant, the fireflys say walk softly. After crossing you enter the last room. There is the flintlock, the message rock for the password for the bells (I presume), and a sleeping dog. You can sneak up to one step from the message rock before the dog wakes and eats you. I have tried numerous options over the last week to get past the dog and activate the flintlock and access the message rock to no avail. I have tried jumping him, having him follow me into the swinging rock room,( he stops right beside me but won't let me go back into the flintlock room) hitting him with rocks (just pisses him off) e.t.c......How, pray tell, does one get past the dog to light the flintlock and access the message rock??

I know where you are. Do the slig thing and then after completing the bat and boulder puzzle, sneak to the next screen. Crouch and arm the bomb on that screen and then run/roll to the right (I roll as I'm already in a crouched position). The slog will wake up and chase you and will arrive at the bomb when it blows up. All you have to do now is get the bell song and pull the lever to activate the flint lock.
Hope that helps:D [Edit] You didn't mention the bomb by the way, is it there? It should be. |
Hey thanx for the reply, there is a silver and red thing sitting in the path, it looks kinda like an upside down wine cup. I've tried messing with a similiar object in past screens, but to no avail. Abe wouldn't touch it. I'll try with this one. I assume Abe just smacks it on its top as with the other bombs eh??

Aw geez....*red-faced*..I feel like a blind drunk mudoken....yep, the bomb worked.....you would not believe the gymnastic gyroscopic actions I made Abe go through these last weeks trying to get by that lil ole bad doggie.....okay, doggies dead and I'm oughta there....thanx bunches.

Hey no problems! Weren't there bombs earlier in the game that you had to disarm? They will have looked the same, but you prolly missed it and focussed your attention to the slog. Easy mistakes everybody makes....:D

Hmm, I have to correct you here...
There are 4 types of mines in the games... 1- Regular Mines (kinda like red and gray stones) 2- Flying Mines (Shaped like proximitymines at sea) 3- Beeping Mines (the ones you can arm and disarm) 4- Timebomb Mines (Looks like 'an up side down winecup') The last type is the sort of mine you had to deal with... And not: :

Actually instead of giving me a thorough explanation, all you could have said, was simply:
Time Bombs can only be armed. I guess I got confused coz there aren't many bombs you disarm in AO, you usually spend time disarming bombs. |
Yeah, yer probably right... Sorry for that...
