Spam and Irrelevant Posts: A Reminder of the Rules

Just now I went to the topic "What is a male and what is a female?". Ok... general Oddworld topic... something that's come up many times. But it has posts in it such as "aaahh...uuum...yeah,lol...". That's all... no relevant discussion, or anything else.

These kinds of posts are getting more frequent... and to tell you the truth, I am getting a little sick of it. I am sure other members are too.

This is called spam. Spam not only means advertising, but also refers to making pointless or irrelevant posts in response to a topic.

There also seems to be a bit of general chat between a couple of members lately in posts. Although there is nothing wrong with chatting to friends, the forum is not the place to do it. Go to OddChat if you want to chat about stuff.

I am getting tired of coming to a topic and seeing things like "I agree" and "oh yeah". There only seem to be a couple culprits, but they continue to do it. People have been banned from Oddworld Forums by continuing this behavior. Some forums don't even give a warning. If this continues, we will have no choice.

Please post constructive and relevant posts to make these forums enjoyable for all members. Especially in the General Oddworld Discussion area.

And remember to stick to all of the rules. It seems like a few have been broken lately, one of which Sydney has recently covered and warned people about.

*agrees with Abe Babe*

Some days when I come here there's like 50 new posts all about nothing, some don't even have words, just smilies. Also while we're discussing this, can members please try to avoid the double/triple posts? I know it's hard with the current state of the forums and some ISPs but please try your best to post qualitative, single posts. And as mentioned before, if you want to add something immediately after posting just edit your previous post.

Let's keep this a fun but (kinda) sensible place ok? :)

Hi :D
I´m sorry about this! But Alector didn´t know what she say about that text! That was my mistake! :( ! Sorry, sorry!!! But 50 new posts about nothing was overstated.

Bye, TheBlueScrab

First I did spamming ,too. But it´s real annoying. Mainly if there is a topic where only senceless post are in. or if there are posts where something like this is in: hehe, yeah ah gzu blabla. Or if someone post something which has nohing to do with any topic on the forums. for exaple if someone just posts and sais: i´m going to go to the swimming pool.
