Oh my God, I'm LOSING IT!

Somebody put me out of my misery. Shoot me now. I like Kingdom Hearts! What the HELL is wrong with me?! It was all I played for about 3, 4 months... How can I call myself a Mortal Kombat fan now? Maybe I belong in a mental hospital....

OddPod 03-18-2003 04:21 AM

I'd love to shoot you but you live too far. Maybe you can be a fan of both games.

Kingdom Hearts is a good game man, I don't see why you feel you can't call yourself a Mortal Kombat Fan anymore.

Hello Super Munch. What is wrong with Kingdom Hearts? It is a very good game. Just because you like a RPG game or a game with Disney characters does not mean that you cannot still be a fan of Mortal Kombat and other fighting games. Lots of people like lots of different kinds of game. Do not be ashamed at liking Kingdom Hearts. :)

The Red Muse 03-19-2003 08:17 AM

Awww, come on! Kingdom Hearts is a great game! ...sure a bit childish ...but nevertheless a great game.
And there's nothing wrong with Mortal Combat *coughcough*--it's as much fun as a pack of peanuts!
So why couldn't you be a Mortal Combat and a Kingdom Hearts fan, both at the same time?

BTW, peanuts are kewl:D.

Dont worry about that. Think of it this way, I am a really great fan of most all First Person Shooters, aka Halo, Red Faction, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, etc. But I also like the Croc games. It does not make me a little kid or less of a fan of games like Halo, but I enjoyed croc one and two(still playing occasionally). They were just fun games too. You never really have to give up one saying you arent a fan because you are playing something that may be the equivalant of a childs game. As long as it is fun, and a good way to kick back, or a new challenge, you shouldn't worry. It should never make you feel less about another game Or Genre, etc. atleast in my opinion. you could say the same thing about oddworld it is not completely for younger audiences, but it also is a complete opposite of games like mortal combat. I have always liked oddworld too, as well as my action games, and shooters.

Well they are both exceptional games:D

There are a lot of different games out there, and I guess it all depends on the gameplay and how it affects the user while playing it.

I still find myself returning to the old Theme Hospital every now and then...

Does anyone still remember Worms Armageddon? I used to be so addicted to that thing.

I was always logging on to Wormnet, then blowing the hell outta someone's team with a Banana Bomb:D (imagine a floating mine in AE exploding, and at the same time releasing 5 more floating mines of equal power into various directions!)

Oooh oooh, Ming Vase!!!!

I remember it, I loved it too! But my favourite "childish" games are:

  • Crash Bandicoot series

  • Spyro series

  • Jak And Daxter

  • Ratchet And Clank

  • Croc series

  • Zelda series

  • Banjo Kazooie/Tooie

  • I guess I'm a sucker for Adventure games.

Yeah the Croc series were so simple yet challenging at the same time. There were no complexities and it basically had the same storyline as Oddworld (saving Gobbos).

I grew up around the "cartridge era" so I was always glued to my SNES controller playing Mario Kart, Mario Allstars and Donkey Kong. I think the last SNES game I bought was Yoshi's Island. Ahhh the memories...

Now it's just strategy strategy strategy, like Starcraft and Warcraft. In those games you can prove that you are better than your opponent (to an extent).

Apparently Kingdom Hearts 2 is in the making! ;) Now you have another one to look forward to. Although it would be ages away.

I'm currently listening to the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack BTW. I got it on Friday and I love it! Although it's very funny when the Mickey Mouse Club March comes on!!!

    Croc series
Strange. I have only ever found one other person who liked Croc before this. I personally loathe it, mainly because of his crap jumping ability.

I love Wormaggedon! We should all play some time.
